I just saw a commercial for Falken Azenis.

The narrator pronounced it Ah-Zey-Ness

I've been saying it Ah-Zey-Knee.

Now I feel like a fool.

Really, I'm not sure how they ever expected a completely made up word to be pronounced correctly anyway.

Really... I always pronounced it Ah-Zen-Ee, but what do I know eh, I'm just a Canadian.

Next you're going to tell me that they aren't called "Legos". They might want kids to call them something else, but every kid I've ever met calls those little bricks Legos.

I always figured it was always some transmorph of a romanization of a Japanese word.

Considering how badly narrators mess up other words, I wouldn't use it as a basis for correct pronounciation.

Why would anyone assume a pronunciation any different than the way it is spelled? I was apparently wrong, but I always thought it was Ah-Zen-Iss.

I think I say a-zee-knees. But now that I've thought about it, I'm all twisted up and can't actually remember.

They were Lincoln Mark and then the number in roman numerals but you just said "Mark 8" or whatever. the other day I see a commercial for the Lincoln "emmkayex" How the berkeley is that not Mark 10?

I think that is related to how model years are, say, 2K12 instead of 2012.

If it was, then the announcer was the one mispronouncing it - the "i" in romaized Japanese words is pronounced like a long "e".

That was back when Mark was the model, and the number was basically the generation. MK is not the same as Mark in this instance. MK is a seemingly random letter designation they give ALL the models, and the last letter determines the model. MKZ, MKS, MKX, and MKT. MKZ is the small Lincoln (rebadged Fusion), MKS is the mid sized Lincoln (rebadged Taurus), MKX is the goofy crossover thing (rebadged Edge), and the MKT is some other goofy crossover thing.

As for Azenis, I always pronounced is Ah-zee-niss.
