Impossible. Trick question.
Not really. When you first got into cars what was your "first love"? The one that really triggers an emotional response inside you every time you see one?
Me being a child of the 70's and 80's, I grew up with the Dukes of Hazzard and a '69 Charger will forever hold a place in my heart as my favorite car. That's not to say I ever plan to own one (because I've driven one - and they are terrible cars), but it will always be my favorite.
The first car that I was really a fan of was the VW beetle. From a young age. But I'd never call that my favorite. Even before I knew about certain cars and models and whatever, I was interested in the mechanical side of things. Before I liked VWs, I liked cars with pop up headlights. Before that I liked the backwards seat in my moms Buick.
So all I can really do is narrow it down to what I know. What I've owned, driven or worked on. My underpowered mustang was a favorite. My 85 Toyota was so good. The 82 911sc my buddy has is an absolute blast to drive. My 93 accord was oddly amazing. My s10 did truck stuff, handled well, sounded great and had a good stereo. Still couldn't pick a favorite.
I love the looks of the 03-06 ford GT. But I also like the current standard 2 door civic. And the ND.
Maybe the one thing I always look at and want is a beat up cj. 5, maybe a 7. Lazy v8, manual, welded rear. I don't know why.
I had to think about it for a while. This isn't a "desert island" car, or a "you can only have one for the rest of your life" car. It's a favorite.
Of those cars I've driven, a Porsche 914-6 stood out to me the most. The steering felt really special and direct, and the whole car was delightfully mechanical. It's not a fast car or a comfortable car, but it did feel like everything was right with the world. I spent a number of years trying to make it happen, and then the price shot up. I'm not saying never, but with my current parking situation, it's not looking great.

Cobra. From seeing Gumball Rally. I can still see it. Because it's on youtube.

Not to pop your bubble, I’ve driven a beat up CJ5 both on and off road. You don’t want one. You’re welcome.

Yeah I know they're a pretty terrible vehicle in all aspects. Still not dissuaded.

Actually, I’ve loved every CJ I’ve ridden in/ drove, on or off road! Refined, no. But mall crawlers are refined; well, some are! If someone recommends against getting a cj, I’m sure they would recommend against driving all the way across the country in a super low budget mustang... much less the funderbird you almost brought!
If it was one car for the rest of my life, it probably would be a 911 Carrera 3.2 (realistically) or a 930 if I had unlimited budget.

As a starting point to some shenanigans obviously.
Aging British exotic - check
Notoriously unreliable manufacturer - check
Glass transmission with unobtanium status - check
Perfection.
I blame it on spending many hours playing the first Test Drive video game on my dad's work computer:
Matt B - I like your style.
Morgan Aero Max (loosen your pants to prevent any binding)
A Aero 8 Series 5 CX Could be substituted....... Berking magnificent!
"I'll be in my bunk"
Realistically, I think I may build or buy a Locost next year.

I have to agree the F355 is the one as is unmodified car I could live with, looks and sound have to compliment function, but I would make sure the recall was done before it catches fire.
One thing I have learnt from this discusion is apparently shades of BRG is a popular colour to fall for.
VW Golf/GTI. I've always liked the lines and utility of them.
If I hit the lottery I'd track down a Koenig 962. I loved how they looked as a kid and still think they are what a road racer is supposed to look like. I'm not sure I could get my fat ass in and out of one but with enough money I could probably hire some help.
