Hey, guys - long time, no chat. :) No, I haven't gotten the 13b rotary in the '91 Miata yet...but I will be in Austin this Thursday through Sunday for a job interview and to check out the town. I'm a bit burned out on the Bay area, and thinking this may be the change I need.
Anyone free for dinner Friday or Saturday night, perhaps, or coffee/garage monkeying Saturday afternoon?

Well, I'm not from Austin..but I'm an SCCA member. Are you?

I'll be there. Just look for the guy in the scraggly beard and Buddy Holly glasses. Oh, and I'll be wearing tight pants and an ironic T-shirt.
Just kidding.
Have fun with all of the "SEO Gurus" and "Social Media Experts".

I've been looking and apparently, if you're "interested in joining the SCCA" they can get you a weekend temporary membership at registration......
Other than that, it'll be pretty hard to avoid SXSW stuff.

Oh and this thread from Carguy123 about going to COTA:

In reply to friedgreencorrado & rob_lewis:
I'm slack and let my SCCA membership lapse ages ago. Good to know about the temporary membership, though!
I also might not make it; my flight's been cancelled and they're having a hard time getting me to Austin. Southwest was SUPER HELPFUL and rebooked me to El Paso. It's as close as they can get me today. WTF?! Fortunately, the company has their travel agent on it, but it's looking like a ridiculously long day in airports for me.
