I didn't have the hankering too bad over the summer... I couldn't get to any because of work, and was making too much to consider going. And then school came around... No more work. I got to the last five autocrosses at the local club, the last one was Sunday. AND I WANT MORE! Damnit. Only 5 months away :(
Any good alternatives for the winter? Indoor karting being the obvious one here.
Gran Toursimo helps mine, but its just not the same as the actual feeling of speed.
6 months for me
The wrenching season is upon us. I have some upkeep to do to the Mustang and I am helping Gimp out with his CP Camaro project.

Get in on our GT4 Lap Challenge!
Well, on the plus side, Ice races are coming soon. Something southerners just cant do.
you know, drive on the white stuff
Don't feel too jealous of us summer-all-the-time people, winter folk. That perpetually scorching summer sun gets really old, really fast.
To be honest.... I'm glad that it's the offseason. Time to rebuild, and recoup the funds to get ready for lincoln.
Love going fast on freshly leveled snowy roads... best time I ever had was after a blizzard and there was till a state of emergancy (I was both "essential personal" and had a presspass) and I was out on one of the local county highways they had leveled, but not cleared.. long drifting corners at 30mph were a blast
You should move to an area that has autocrosses year round.

The location should also be not to hot and not to cold. It needs to be just right.
I'll second rallycross, it's a blast. Also, if you can find a decent indoor karting place, it's very addictive.
We are celebrating that the temp has dropped out of the 90's. I truly hate snow and bone chilling cold, but a few days in the 50's would be wonderful.

I really want to, but am trying to make the mature decision by concentrating on school. Look for me to hit hard if you have a thanksgiving tourney and/or after December 15th.
Huh, I've never really even considered Auto X having a "season." Why don't you wusses run in the snow? We run in the rain.
Talk about wusses. The Atlanta region has an off season, and it has snowed 1 day in the last 3 years.

We run in the rain. Snow. Sleet... but when its 39 degrees, raining, and windy in your face, its not so much fun. I would do it... but others wouldn't.
I froze my jahoobies off at the next-to-last Divisional held at the Michelin 'Black Lake'. 42 degrees and rain, Stinky had no heater.... it was a bad day.

GIRL!!! Last January I went to a Detroit region rallycross. I rode in a mini with no heat for two hours to get to the event. It was one of the best days of my life.

I said I would do it. The others wouldn't. And... I live in Illinois. We don't have rallycrosses.
