The album "License to Chill" was #1
(I didn't like it much).

I caught that, too. Too darn funny!
+1 on clutch and cake. WEEN is awesome as well as old crow medicine show. Most of my favorite bands never had a number one hit...
cake is way up there on the list. id have to add the bouncing souls.
"best" was never really my thing, i prefer, "better than alot of the stuff that has somehow made it to #1 over the yrs" as my top 25 bands are pretty much all tied for 1st

Dust. Wind. Dude.
And I'd vote for Iron Maiden.

I think 'Intergalactic' and 'Sabotage' were pretty high up in the charts. Don't know about number one, though.

Tongue bitten. Dust IN the Wind is more of a punchline than a song.
Pepper, ALEXISONFIRE, Billy Squire (I have no idea but he's freaken awesome, Billy Madison where he rolls up in the Trans Am listening to Billy Squire with his denim tuxedo and REO Speed Wagon baseball T on).
I see a couple of people have listed Yes, but I was wondering: didn't their debut hit "Roundabout" make it to the top for a while?
