Just downloaded the Safari 4 beta (http://www.apple.com/safari/download/)
It claims to be the worlds' fastest browser, and comes with some pretty interesting enhancements. Definitely renders pages beautifully. And they finally gave the windows users a native look and feel, which is nice.
Also been using the Firefox 3.1 beta. It's not fully cooked yet, but has some pretty notable improvments over 3.0... in particular, it's faster and has better javascript and css support.
It's amazing, really, how many REALLY good browsers are out there these days. Microsoft should be really scared.
It's just one more good browser out there for you. FF 3 or 3.1 are also very very good. So is Chrome. I don't get along with it, but some people really click with Opera. There's just a LOT of really, really good browsers available right now.
I like Chrome. Still a lot of stuff to work out (unless if they've updated it since I downloaded it), but its so simple that it just works.
Chrome's nice. Good rendering engine (same as Safari 3), fast, and as you said, it's simplicity is really appealing.
I use both Opera and Firefox. I've stopped playing with betas, but I still keep the most up to date stable releases. I tend to use Opera most of the time, and my wife prefers Firefox.
