For those that don't know, a 'bucket list' is a list of all the things you want to do before you die. I thought it'd be fun to do a car variant - as in, what cars do you want to own at some point before you die?
In no particular order: -TT
-Boxster
-Miata
-Mazdaspeed3
-Supercharged Mk1 MR2
-Porsche 993 (last of the air cooled models)
-24v Dodge Cummins
-'88 Fiero
-Mini Cooper S
-CTS
-C5 Z06
-CRX Si
Realistically
MGA, MG TD, TR6, TR7 (w/ rotary), 1st gen RX-7 (w/ V8), Grand National, late '70s F-100, Saab 96, Jaguar Mk2, Challenger R/T or SRT8, original Dart (yes the ugly ones), G-Body El Camino, Plymouth Cricket (or Hillman Avenger), Land Rover Defender and turbo Brick
In my Dreams
MG 18/100 MK3 Tigress, MG R-Type Midget, Bentley 4 1/2 litre, Bugatti Type 57 Atlantic, Lotus Evora (maybe if I am lucky I will get one of those), Ferrari F40, Lamborghini Diablo SE30, Jaguar E-Type Lightweight, Porsche 962 (one of the ones modified for road use)
Grand National Experimental
Ferrari F40
Porsche GT1 Strassenversion
Wicked huge turbo on the Aspire.
I forgot my favorite car...the Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evo...I would die a thousand deaths for that machine.
Semi-Realistic list: Ferrari 308 GTS, Jaguar E-Type (series 1 or 2), Alfa Romeo Montreal, BMW M Coupe, Porsche 911 (one of several variants), and a good Cobra replica.
built, clean, unmolested, Non SR5 AE86
boosted IS300
Restomod track ready J-body
510 AutoXer
C4 vette
2.5RS
E36M3
And not really any car in particular, but I want to go 10/10ths down the corkscrew at laguna seca in something caged without sound deadening, a passenger seat, AC, interior door panels, door glass or a stock fuel tank at least once before I take my dirtnap.
I've got it bith good and bad. Car-bucket wise, I have basially realized my childhood dream, so I can scratch it off the list.
My longtime goal was to have a "race car" that I could drive on the street, simple as that. Many of you have been to this point. I set the requirements loosly to define "race car" as that it had to have headers, slick tires ,'mag' wheels a roll bar, and "racing" numbers and stickers on the body. I bulit my Neon Sport Coupe to that point (and more), I had bought Hoosier slicks for the car, they were nicely scrubbed in when I installed the Kirk 4-point and showed up at the next PCA event. The car was my childhood image of a racecar, and bested every Porsche running that day (Except for a Beck repro 550 with Beck himself driving an exibition run... NOBODY beat his time!). I had realized my dream.
But this leaves me with a quandry: do I scrach it and move on, or dream up something else? I have no target left to shoot for, car-wise, so I have a certain vacuum there. There is always the Unobtainable-gonna-need-a-Jeanie-in-a-bottle-or-MegaMillion$-lottery Win to fulfill (In my case, a 1967 Shelby GT500 in red, retrofitted with a Blue Crecent 429 engine topped by 4 huge Webers.

I love cars and trucks of just about all kinds- the first several examples that come to mind:
Lately I have been looking at older GMC Jimmys / S10s/ Blazers and thinking I should just go on and build the minitruck I would have loved at 16 - the trucks themselves are cheap on the used market, anyway, always a good sign for me. Maybe try to make it actually go/turn/stop well. You know, just for fun. I'd skip most of the stereo stuff, the dumb giant chrome wheels most poeple seem to want to put on there. Think kinda roll-your-own 2WD SyTy and you'd have the general idea.
A jeep with a top that comes off, or maybe a 60s Bronco, or an old Scout, or... Something in the 4WD convertible space. Wife particularly likes the looks of old Broncos. One day.
Early-60s American megavertible- this is almost in the "if I win the lottery" category due to massive impracticality/ gas prices. Somebody parked an ancient Oldsmobile convertible at the end of my street last summer when gas was $4+ or more, I still wanted it even though I knew it'd stay parked a lot.
I'd like to mess with an air cooled VW one day.
I guess I'm in kind of a truck frame of mind lately- I think the next project car we wind up with at my house will probably be a truck. :)
