I seriously dream abut getting off the rat wheel.
Might be time to slow down and smell the roses.
Even if I could just cut down to 40 hours a week I would be happy, and maybe move out of San Diego where a shack is not 750K.
That bike and a small shipping container house just might be my escape cabin if I could find some decent land up north near the coast.

I just got done reading about Armstrong's X-15 flights.
The X15 was a seriously badass plane. Get dropped off the wing of a bomber then see if you can light the fuse. Get fired out of the atmosphere by an experimental rocket engine, where missing cutoff by a few seconds means tens of thousands of feet of elevation. Then you glide back to earth in a brick and land on skis.
I got one of these refurbished from Woot!, we've needed a new vacuum for a long time, kind of wanted a Dyson, but didn't want to spend Dyson money, and have made due with an old Dirt Devil upright canister for far too long. I knew the Dirt Devil didn't do that great, but it still picked up stuff, and I thought we were relatively clean people. I went over our bedroom floor, which appeared to be clean, twice with the new Dyson last night, and I managed to fill the Dyson's canister 3/4 full. There was so much hair, I don't know how SWMBO has any left on her head.
Color me IMPRESSED!

Yeah, I love my Dyson. I wish I had spent the extra money and gotten the Animal, but even my regular one works very very well.
Link semirelated:
We were holding out for an Animal originally, but when comparing the Mutlti Floor to the Animal, the only difference was attachments. Woot! had a great deal on the Multi Floor so I jumped on it.
However when it arrived it came with the mini turbine head. Lives up to its name, that thing spins crazy fast, and sound like a turbine. I wasn't expecting to get the mini turbine head with the Multi Floor model.

Mill fire about 6 miles from here. They have evacuated a 1 mile radius around the site. Looked like it was a few blocks away from work but it is just much larger than it looks.

I just want to note that you followed a picture of the X-15, possibly the baddest plane ever to exist ever, with a picture of an overpriced vacuum cleaner who's sole claim to fame is that the guy in charge has never figured out how to turn his vacuum.

Cranking the money machine to feed the consumer machine is getting old.
If I didn't have two kids still in school and a wife, I think I'd be living in a camper in the woods somewhere, and doing handy man work for cash and food. I've done broke and enjoyed life just as much as I do now, if not more.
This may well be me in 10 years.
