No, some kind of "make it run backwards and move the carb & exhaust around" conversion; I think.

LT1-based?
The distributor is what's messing with me, but an LT1 should have center bolt valve covers (I think).

As to the why, I think it goes along with other "hot rod" ideas. Some mods. are for performance others are to get attention and look different. I think that's why it was built. Prob. a retired guy with time on his hands.
It seems to me that it would take a special camshaft to do this. The direction of rotation could remain normal but instead of opening the intake valve on the intake stroke you'd open the exhaust valve. Of course you'd loose power because of the downgraded intake charge but the end result would get a lot of attention and start a lot of conversations. How do you guys think it was done?
All I think about is the intake running through the tiny exhaust valves and vice versa.
I know the roots of it were in flatheads to aid cooling.
Did you note the pipe fittings on the coolant passages? I wonder what the water pump is? A pool pump?

Does it sound like a calliope when it runs?
Many Indy cars were done this way in the ~60's

For what application does Hoosier make those little bitty front tires?

I gotta say this, Kia's feel cheap when you touch them. They look great, run well, check all the boxes but the just "feel" cheap, IMHO.

Nope, that's a Kia C-apostrophe-D. This is the Forte 5 SX Turbo we get in the States, which I think is much more bland-looking.
