Yep, he was calling the steering axis' intersection with the ground the "Dave Point". I'm pretty sure it's called the scrub center.
It's still an important piece of mathematica, but I instantly distrust anyone who names a theoretical construct after themselves instead of a usefully descriptive term. That's the kind of self-promotion we expect from people with gold chains and grilles, not suspension engineers.
Now, a question that I've never had awequately answered: When calculating roll center, what is more important, that point, or the wheel centerline? If it's indeed the latter, then changing wheel offset could have significant effect on roll center motion through wheel travel.

Yeah, that was on the on ramp to the hume highway m5, its only 5 minutes from my house.
