Since I dont have a project car thread, the hotlink thread will have to suffice

On Prime Day, I ordered THESE CREE LED HEADLIGHTS WITH CANBUS, for about $22 shipped. Its only $7 off the regular prime price, but thats still about $50 better than I could find in most other outlets for plug and play LEDs. They received decent ratings on nearly 400 accounts, and I hate the Cruze's lights with OEM halogens in them with the raging fury of a dozen suns, so I figured it was worth a flier.

Here are the OEMs in all their mediocrity.

High beams are no better. I often will already have the brights on, and go to turn them on again, because I cant even tell the difference. Its pitiful, and a disgrace to an otherwise praiseworthy econobox(I named my Cruze "Amana" - an inexpensive, plain-white enameled appliance). The brights are so loathsome, I couldnt bring myself to take a pic of them (also, I forgot).

Instalation is a breeze. As you saw above, the unit is a bit larger than a standard halogen H13 bulb. It has a heatsink and a fan built directly into the back of the thing. You can hear the fans run if the car is off and the lights are on, but its not loud enough to notice unless youre trying to listen. Even with the size of the unit, and the relatively small nature of the cruze, there is plenty of room behind the housings to get the bulbs in (especially because the 1.4t in the cruze is small enough to fit in a duffel bag). No pic in situ, it only took about 10 min total to get both of them in there - including time to realize that I didnt grab a small enough screw driver to push down the locking tab on the back of the harness, and go back to the toolbox to grab it, which is downstairs, because Im lazy and havent put my garage back together from when we moved...2 years ago...dont judge me.

one light in:

Both:

So, theyve been in the car for exactly 1 commute to work, and its pretty sunny by the time Im on my way in this time of year, so I cant say what I think just yet. But, the missus and I have dinner plans this evening, and I think I will get to check them out for some night driving.

Some comments on Amazon talked about the lights flickering unless you have the brights on (usually complaining when used as daytime running lights), or not lasting very long. given that I got these for about 2/3 of what some silverstars would cost at autoreilyzone, if I get a year out of them, I will be pleased. They claim to have a 2 year warranty, so we will see if I need to invoke that clause of my purchase agreement...with the chinese...over the internet...yeah, Im not holding my breath lol.

Well, that FWD Toronado configuration is a new one. EDIT - to me anyway - I'd never seen that. Thanks for sharing!

I don't see what the problem is. Clearly the guy mowed a warning into his lawn that there was a hole. You know, so he wouldn't get the mower stuck in it.

I feel my last post in this thread was entirely too classy and stylish.

That should make up for it.
