Trailer tires piss me off, because you could take the P metrics off an Impala you found in the junkyardstick them on a trailer, and drive for a decade, or until some mirrored glass wearing douche writes you a ticket for not having trailer rated tires.
Which last 20,000km or 3 years...
I'll be honest...I almost went that route for the new old boat trailer since it came with a set of 15" Ford Explorer wheels on it. I figured I'd give the trailer tires one more shot since the cost of new galvanized wheels with Kenda trailer tires was only a little more than having cheap chinese Pmetrics put on the explorer rims. If they don't hold up as long as I have the boat it's going back to car tires. No cop in Georgia EVER wrote a ticket for lack of trailer tires.

Drove an interesting Jeep yesterday. How do you pass on a country road?

The father of my childhood friend had one of those. In almost exactly that condition. The father was Gene Nead, a welder and fabricator who built and raced dirt oval cars. My friend was also Gene Nead, who grew up to be a crew chief in NASCAR car and truck racing.
Since he had a lot of time in the off-season and lived in the racing South, he also started playing golf. He started making these:

I'm not sure what those wheels are on that, never seen them on a Superbird or Road Runner or GTX or Belvedere or Satellite. They look suspiciously like a Pontiac 8-lug wheel.

They're '69 Plymouth wheelcovers over steelies. Though you are right, they do look like Poncho 8-lugs.

Zoom in real close, and you can see the writing on the center says "Plymouth" Hub Caps:

I wasn't implying they were Pontiac wheels, to clarify. I had just never seen a set of those wheel covers. Probably all of them got trashed and replaced with Magnum 500s and Rallye wheels when everyone was cloning all the Belvederes and Satellites into Road Runners and GTXs.
