I was surprised to see the Tesla broke in half. Glad no one was sitting in the 3rd row. The GTR didn't fare too well either. The rear of the Tesla hit a Mustang hard enough to get it towed off as well. 4 in the hospital.
Edit to add: The GTR must have been hauling ass.
Don't think either one will buff out.
The Tesla looks like it just unzipped where the floor meets the kickup in the rear.
This is a not uncommon place for cars to come apart. Rear collision is not given as much priority as front collision, so the structures behind the cabin are relatively flimsy. There's no drivetrain to get in the way of having an effective crumple zone after all. So a side hit to the rear quarter very well my just knock it off the car.
While what you say is reasonable, the last row of seats is still in the back section of the vehicle. So it ripped through the cabin compartment, not behind it. That does not give me a warm fuzzy feeling. I would think the strongest part of the car would include all the passengers, including the kids that get relegated to the last row of seats.
This isn't any better and I guess you can only prepare for reasonable impacts. I would like to see things bend rather than fail completely.
I can ship you guys proper Smarties right from Canada if you want.
Or, how about some Hawkins Cheezies?

We're getting so close to a pretty remarkable milestone in this thread. How do we celebrate appropriately?
In case it's not obvious,. I'm totally post whoring to help push us over the top.
Also, I've got a lot of cool stuff that I've never shared.
Not a huge fan of the last two. New lens and I didn't have my glasses with me so I was guestimating on focal depth.
