Maybe the model was made before September 1975 when the Chevette was introduced? Makes that model a collecors item!

My RX-3 came with a bunch of books and magazines from the 60s and early 70s, that had articles about various companies' Wankel engines.
GM's engine was all iron, and since they had a special license with NSU that allowed them to not share their R&D with the other members of the Wankel consortium, they did a lot of the development on their own, and a lot of it was a bit different than the way NSU, Mazda, and Curtiss-Wright (the main three companies doing heavy R&D) developed things. According to the books, GM went about dealing with internal airflow issues and the ignition system in a different way, and they had developed seal materials that would last 200,000mi. 1970s GM being 1970s GM, they decided that was poor engineering, so they were working on a cheaper material that would last only 60k miles or so. They also engineered the end housings with plugs so you could replace the apex seals without engine disassembly. (Given personal experience that the apex seals are the last things to wear, I find this a bit odd, but this was also when Mazda production engines had carbon-aluminum seals that only lasted 50k or so, so maybe it made sense)

But then we'd have to rename all the "topless" beaches. The signs would have to be changed, to what I don't know. "2/3" beaches or something. 33% off. Sounds like a mattress store.
