Yesterday at my son's house:
My neighbor Johnny Cap Jr., chain saw savant/wizard, brought four saws with him and used every one, from 14" to 28" bar length. (The 28" was a beast). Cut up tons of big sticks into 19" little sticks.
Today, son Jason rented a 20-ton splitter and he and I did some splittin'. Hot, but fun. Great memories.
Jay doesn't have a wood stove or a wood burning fireplace. But he does have a beautiful 6' ID fieldstone fire pit he built in his back yard. He likes big (controlled) fires and alcohol. Like me. This wood should last a while. I'm looking forward to a nice cool fall evening or two around the firepit sipping single malt with him.

I don't know where you are located, and I don't like scotch, but I will bring some damn fine bourbon to your get together!
Pic unrelated... (my gm 3500 v6 powered champcar)

We'd love to have you join us and talk cars. We're in RI. PM me if you can make it, and bring the bourbon!
The 28" bar length chain saw was a vintage 70's era Homelite direct drive that weighs probably 30 lbs. It was an amazing beast with tremendous power. (It'll take your arm off in a nano second). Fun to watch it in action ... thanks to my neighbor Johnny Cap Jr.
Gotta post an unrelated pic, so here it is:
(This is a great pic considering the camera and film tech of the era. I think it's the '51 British GP at Silverstone going through, I don't know, maybe Woodcote, Copse, Becketts, Stowe or Club (all right-handers) with Froilán González (the Pampas Bull) at the wheel of a Ferrari F1).
I stopped the car twice to look at this.
Full arch, full double rainbow. It seems like the colors are more vivid recently, maybe due to the decreased air pollution.
Spec Guniwheel?
I reset my mpg'er 320 miles away from home and about 500' higher. I had the cruise set almost 99% of the time. The Grand Cherokee has a 24 gallon tank. The following fill up gave me an estimated range of 589 miles... Damn.

Read my mind on the Nissan.

Beautiful!
Leaving work last week, this was over the Speedway.
According to my kids, rainbows are circular. The other half is below the horizon.
I love summer evenings in SoNE at a favorite restaurant (Tree House Tavern, in Warwick, RI).
This is one of those rare occurrences you'll see me drinking white wine (La Crema Chardonnay), which I first tasted at the Kaiser Grille in Palm Springs, CA. Now whenever I see it on the wine list, I order it.
