There was a little discussion about the big red Snow Cruiser that was posted a few days ago, abandoned in the Arctic.
But did everybody know it originally came with its own Staggerwing? I can't imagine anything more endearingly 1930s than this thing:

I remember when Heavy Metal Impala got stolen.
They sort of found it about 10 years after it got boosted.

There may be some influence there. Wayne Kady, the GM designer, was friends with Syd Mead.
