Hard to tell from that microscopic photo. 
The concept is okay, but it seems to require large diameter high offset wheels that don't suit those cars.
Couldn't find a bigger picture. It's from SEMA. Seems like there were a lot of these things there.SEMA
I BARFED.
Someone did a 58-62 Vette that didn't look half bad, except the windshield completely ruins it.
That's the thing. With a modern windshield it totally screws with the proportions.
I expect to see certain proportions, and they're simply not there. I mean, I can't ignore outsized rims, much less a new frame under a classic 'vette. I mean, to each his own, but to me it's not right. If I'm buying a Stingray, I'm going to expect a certain level of performance and I'm certainly not going to whine about it. 
It's not for me, but I have no extra dollars to vote with anyway.
It would look better with 33" rimz. Dem dubs is too small!

I'd need better photos. You guys are right, the windshield angle looks funky, but it's not too offensive to me.

This chassis is on Ebay. I personally think the two go together very well. I would rather drive the hybrid than a new body, but then again I am a lttle odd.

The re-bodies like OP references, though, simply never look right. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
