I'm amongst the group that thinks that plaid interior is bad-ass. I'm also considering taking apart my drums and covering all the drum shells in plaid fabric, so what do I know.

Ooh, I dunno, Lesley... I dig this:
And put me in the "plaid is bad" (in a good way) group.

i love 80's interiors :)... my mkI mr2 was AWESOME... a friend had an awesome subie xt turbo with the checkered cloth seats that weird steering wheel and the pistol grip shifter... just wacky ergos... but very comfy...
the burgandy in my '85 tercel was pretty bad... but even that I didn't mind to much.
Both of my Porsches (944 snfs 924s, both 1987) had a Cream and tan interior. I just suffered thorugh it and played bad 80's techno music to complete the feel.

Actually, one of the only things that bothers me in almost any car is when Porsches don't have the steering wheel I like. This one does. I do not like this one:

Agreed. I can't stand that steering wheel. Mine looks pretty much like this, but in better shape. All black.
mtn, 100% agree. I really do not like the stock Porsche wheel. It's ugly, and doesn't seem to hold up well (I haven't seen an original one that was trashed, even when the rest of the interior was great). There's a really popular Momo replacement one that I like. I had a knock off in my last car.
I know neons are a good performance value but I couldn't stand driving around in that E36 M3ty interior every day.
On the other hand I have wanted to buy a 1st gen rx7 and an RSX just because of the awesome interiors they have.
I want a 10ae miata, because of the interior. Its also a contributing factor to me wanting an 87 T-bird (hey, I was driven home from the hospital in it) and MB interiors from the late eighties to early nineties.
In reply to Nitroracer: My only interior gripe is leg room, I need the seat to go about 2 more inches back. Besides, the interiors of both my '98s where is better shape 10 years later than a friend's '05 malibu at 3 months. Poor bastard HAS to drive chevys, his Father is a chevy dealer and he lives at home.
+1 on the FB RX-7 interior layout. Even in maroon I didn't mind mine and a lot of them seem to have held up quite well over the years

What exactly did you use to complete this?
My Blue interior is bothering me like no other...

Spray can vinyl dye. I don't recall the brand, maybe it was Duplicolor.

Are you brave enough to post this on Miata.net?
Made me chuckle.

I take it that this was some special one off miata?
The interior was my favorite part of my rsx. Everything is oriented towards the driver and within easy reach. The climate control was the best I've experienced, not that that has any bearing on this discussion.
