Sounds like the folks in Alberta are the most pissed at this decision.

1812

So its probably a bad idea to drive through it with a kaido racer (bosozoku) Camry with truck nuts

No
You guys made him what he is. You guys keep him. Thank you. eh

Exactly. We don't accept returns on defective merchandise.
Also, he has a couple of cars and apparently works on them himself, when he can. Here he is with the Mercedes he inherited from his dad.

It was so cold that the Brits eventually just let us go.

Not even close. That was the event which saw the attempted annexation of Canada by the U.S. (pity that didn't work out, eh?)
1 July 1867 seems to be the date attributed to the creation of the Canadian federation.

Nah...its when they tossed all the yanks back over the border that they became their own country. till then it was kinda murky. So I stand by my date

Yep this!!!
This photo speaks volumes about who we wound up with. A pretty boy with his dads name and inheritance. At 43 he has worked for a grand total of three years as a teacher in a tony private school. The rest of his adult life has been spent flitting from one university degree program to another. All hat and no cowboy. I hope all the conservative haters remember who put him there when things go sideways in a couple years.
I knew about it, working with quite a few Canucks from across the border in Windsor. They terk er jerbs!
Anyway, they seem to think the election boils down to hair and weed. Also that the Jays need to step it up.
Nice. Y'all elected the son of the author of the Doonesbury comic strip. Lemme know how that goes. Should be funny.

What's my type then? Hard working blue collar self employed middle class college educated believer in low taxes, fiscal responsibility and minimal government intrusion. That was the Harper Conservatives and I never understood the viscous anti Harper venom that has been spewed over the last few weeks. It was a special kind of hatred for a guy who's major fault seemed to be that he wasn't warm and fuzzy like Trudeau projects to be.
That said, I don't mind too much that the liberals got in. They hopefully won't do too much damage in five years. The question is what will they give up to appease all the special interest groups who carried them. They have made a lot of very expensive promises. My main objection is with their leader. He is a playboy who has never had to worry or dig in his life. He is our prime minister in waiting by virtue of his photogenic appearance, his oratory ability and his last name. Not Prime Ministerial qualifications in my view.
South coast BC by the way.
I like fiscal responsibility too... which means I detest seeing my tax dollars spent to spread a partisan political message that tries to scare me. I am happy to pay higher taxes if the money goes to important causes like universal health care and accessible education and redistributing wealth downward to make the whole country richer. As for "government intrusion," I spent a decade gritting my teeth and watching "my" national government bully everybody it didn't like, from government scientists who provided inconvenient facts to one lone woman whose religion told her to cover her face in public. She pushed back, she sued, and she won. Now THAT'S Canadian. We're very nice, polite, law-abiding people, and it takes a lot to piss us off. Once you do, however, you will find that we just don't know how to back down.
I am totally ready to give the "playboy" a chance to govern. He will probably never be the smartest guy in the room... which means he won't be under the (completely mistaken) impression that he, and he alone, is the only thing standing between Canada and godless anarchy. He will need the help of people of competence and goodwill to help run the country, just as our constitutional tradition requires. It'll be a nice change.
I knew about it but I was also in Toronto a couple of weeks ago for work. I really like the limits on the campaign lengths. I listened a little bit to what was going on but didn't follow it closely.
So the Cons came to power, took a healthy surplus left by a Liberal government, turned it into a deficit, massively grew the national debt and that's called fiscally responsible?

Also known as "America's Hat". Sometimes thought of as the attic, usually cold full of neat stuff you'd forgotten about but makes you feel good about just having it there.
I knew about it, as I have a good friend who lives up there and he posts on the Facebooks. He's an environmental voter, so he's thrilled about the new guy in charge. He thought the former guy was in the pocket of the oil and gas industries--- and he didn't like the outgoing regime's treatment of science as the enemy. (his words not mine---- as I haven't been following it very closely)
I'm pretty sure we'll stay in close relations with our friends up North--- regardless of who they.... and we put in charge.
You'll need to log in to post.
