i almost- almost- custom ordered a stripped down Z28 about 2 weeks before GM stopped taking orders in the summer of '02.. it was essentially a hard top with the big motor with the manual trans with the sport suspension, 17" wheels, AM/FM stereo, SLP exhaust, and the Hurst shifter. i tried to get crank up windows on the list, but they were only available on the stripped base models with no options and nto available on the Z28. the salesman kept trying to sell me one of the cars on the lot- the cheapest one they had was loaded convertible and had a sticker of close to $35k.. but we managed to "build" one on the computer the way i wanted with a sticker of just shy of $23k.. they also had some rebates and stuff that brought it down to just over $18k and i somehow got them to agree to pay all the registration fees... i had the financing lined up thru a local bank, but decided not to pull the trigger.. i kinda regret that, and i'm pretty sure that you can't do anything like that with the new Camaros....
