I was at the boneyard today and saw a BMW 750 whatever-it-is with a V12. I don't know jack about these engines but as a public service to anyone in the PNW who might be sick enough to want one of these to "play" with, it's at the Lynnwood Pull-a-Part, (that's just north of Seattle). If I remember right, they sell entire engines for about 150 bucks...
Then again, maybe the reason it's in the yard is that it's a BMW V12?
As you were...

Probably has more to do with the transmission than the engine...
Or one of the many computers.

Cheap BMW V12 is an oxymoron. You should get it.
I was under the impression a free BMW V12 was overpriced. Has Megasquirt changed this?
I want to get one and make a coffee table out of it.

those engines bmw engineered those like two 6 cyl engines so there is two of everything ( fuel pumps, engine control modules, air mass meters, etc).lots of spare parts if you megasquirt that engine and put in another car. Very smooth running engine when running correctly. would sound great in a factory five GTR
Hiding my eyes...must not get crazy ideas.
yes.. basically the v12 is two I6s with a single block, crank, and flywheel. Megasquirt cures all ills. Just imagine one with chromed headers, and ITBs
