not much to ad , between wrestling and then conan and lopez must see TV
Conan is great. I'll watch tonight and see how it goes, then change the channel. George Lopez is just not funny to me.
No. Conan will be in last place 6 months from now..Too narrow an appeal. That is not to say he'll be off the air. But, after a couple of weeks, he'll be behind the status quo. And Lopez is not worth staying up for.
It seems to be a generational thing.....Conan is certainly more popular with gen Y and younger. Leno is more popular with my parents' generation.

+1 and Im not my parents generation. I can find vague humor occasionally in Conan, Dane Cook is just plain not funny, I dont get it at all.
If you don't find Conan funny, I suspect you've never seen "Old Time Baseball."
WHAT DEMONRY IS THIS?!
I've never gotten George Lopez. All of his jokes are just references to White or Latino stereotypes. One trick pony.
Also:
I watched some of Conan. His self defeating comments about the "low rent-ness" of basic cable and himself did very little to keep me engaged. If it was not so easy to see Stewart/Colbert online I would have switched right away.
The irony I find is that Conan ripped on basic cable but all I wanted to do was switch to another (and maybe even lesser) cable station.
Conan is a better writer. He should stick to what he does best. His delivery sucks!
Craig Ferguson is the second coming of jack Par.
I don't have numbers for everyone, but here in Denver, Leno won with a 3.2 HH rating. Conan did a 2.5 and Letterman did a 2.2. Lopez isn't really playing in the same sand box with a 0.9 HH rating.
Lopez is not funny at all. Even the audience is forcing their laughs.
I don't really care for Conan either. My dad was saying that the Tonight Show ratings fell after the switch from Leno to Conan, which is why they switched the time slots back. Is there any truth to this? Because I sure could believe it. Leno always keeps me engaged, Conan... Not so much.
Ferguson is the funniest of the bunch anyways.

Absolutely. Ratings plumeted when Conana took over the Tonight Show desk. Letterman was crushing him. NBC Prime Time is a train wreck right now too, so local station's late newscasts were getting killed. I believe it was the cries from the local stations that got them to put Leno back.
Late news makes up a huge percentage of local television station revenue. In some cases, half of their entire billing.
I watched Conan and enjoyed it last night, then George Lopez came on. I tried to give him a chance, but it was just not funny at all. I made it about 5 minutes.

It helps if the local station has a clue as to what constitutes "news".
I caught a local station's news cast last night and the lead-off stories were about a school bus rolling past a stop sign TWICE in TWO weeks. WTF?
And, a convicted/paroled/now-employed sex-offender who works as a repair man. The feigned outrage is that he has access to homes BUT there is no effing law requiring him to disclose his past transgressions. Instead of publicly hounding a "potential" perp, how about going after the state legislators?
Local TV news sucks and it was again proven as fact.

Yeah, I did think better of it...
Let me say this- I think most local news outlets do a very good job trying to provide the coverage their viewers want.
Take care,
