I picked this leaf collector up over the summer and was getting ready to put it to work over the weekend and found a  bit of an issue.

The engine has a dipstick  on top but then I noticed it also has a lower oil port?? The lower section seem to have little oil inside but the dipstick has oil on it?

Is the dipstick for the engine and the lower  fill point for the gear/ shaft drive? The machine did not come with  any paperwork and I am blocked from the Agri-fab site for some reason.

Thanks, Paul

Every Briggs I ever owned said to fill to the bottom of the threads on that lower plug.

The dipstick is a nice additional option, but you may have noticed that many small engines have 2 or 3 of those fill/check plugs.  That is so you have access to it regardless of what it's installed in.

But, IIRC, bottom of the threads is always a winner.  I just fill until it's covering the threads a bit.

I agree.  Fill to the threads, then check dipstick?

Thanks guys,  that is what I was planning to do, the second fill point caught me off guard.
