I know he wasn't "the" cause, but certainly even before he became Fed Chairman, he was helping to screw it up. Attaboy Ben, you screwed it up so badly that you can pretend you saved us.
Say what you will about Mr. Bernanke, but I do not feel that Yellen is any sort of improvement.
Further, IMO, the Nobel committee long ago traded it's credibility for a political soapbox.
He did not win it for "causing" the Great Recession. He won it for bettering "our understanding of the role of banks in the economy, particularly during financial crises.”. You cant deny that we learn from mistakes and berkeleyups just as much if not more than success. That's how I see it.
We're also more than the sum of our mistakes and berkeleyups.
The only people who care about this are still pissed thst Obama got one and not trump. Change my mind.
Science and art are the only nobels thst matter the rest is all fluff garbage.

I agree with you a lot, which we both should admit is a bit unusual.
I don't think Obama deserved one. If Trump had really reunited Korea, sure thing. He made some good peaceful moves in the Middle East, but not Nobel worthy, at least what my lofty ideal says "Nobel-worthy" should mean.
I will guess 1:22 for the lock...

I was gonna post a really informative reply to the OP but it's obvious this place is full of TV drones who couldn't handle the truth.
I'm gonna take the over on 1:22 if you're talking 1:22PM on Tu 11-Oct-2022. But not "way over".
Also, I believe social commentarian Axl Rose once said "What's so great about recession anyway?"
