Yes, all the cases have covers. They are acrylic or plexiglass or something. They're hideously expensive new, I've found all mine used so far.

I have fought the dust demon for over 60 years. I have had this one all my life, but it is relegated to second string status. Overflowed with built kits by mid 1970s

So I purchase the one on the right in this photo new about '87 and immediately added a second lamp. It overflowed and about 10 years ago I found the one on the left on Craig's list for $25. It too is overfull. Some decent diecasts from my early youth are above the lintle pictured, and my first Italian car (1957 Giordani Indianapolis) is on top of the hutch with boxed slot cars. Built 1/32 and 1/35 usually becomes slot track scenery, where it fails from the dust, there is a constant replacement process. On my third frogeye Sprite.

My dining room has become the Car Room, the living room is becoming the Star Wars room.  Pics at 11...

Excuse the grandma wallpaper.  Eventually it will go away.  Year #8 saying that but don't rush me...

Autographed driving glove and photos go with the case of cars.  Local memorabilia auction fed my addiction for a number of years for autographed stuff.

Another driving glove and a lot of misc car stuff.  That stand is very heavy, my cousin had a beauty salon/hair style booth and sold it to me cheap, I just had to rent a truck and drive to IN to get it.  And 3 people helped me move it.

Autographed poster and more misc car stuff.  Got that display for $10 from craigslist.  SWMBO found it for me, she thought it looked like a tire.

You can see the edge of the living room.  The Star Wars collection is even bigger.

My office at work. Matchbox/Hot Wheels in the Chevy grill above the Petit LeMans poster.

Man, I wish I had an office at work. I'm the CIO and I'm forced to work out of the equipment closet where people also store their E36 M3, because who cares about security and liability for our server, networking equipment, and most importantly our data.

I HAD an office I was going to set up a whole bunch of stuff in, but I got booted for a paralegal crying

I have a few Hot Wheels / Matchbox / etc. on a shelf in my office at work.  I used to have a Ford pickup that was just like my real one, the same color and everything, but some cretin on the office cleaning crew swiped it.  angry  Ten years later it still makes me mad.

Can we see them? I know next to nothing about gunpla besides that I love the models. I have one built and one unbuilt. I don't even know what series they are from. I'll grab pics tonight.

My very first kit, a Master Grade of the Gunda 00 Raiser from Gundam 00. Pardon the dust, these things are nigh impossible to clean. I love design of the Gundam 00 units, which eschew the realistic military designs for something a bit smoother and more futuristic with brighter color palletes. I also love the huge shoulder binders over the twin reactors, and the Big Berking GN Sword IV, which can also flip back to reveal a couple of guns in the base

I think the RX-0 Gundam 01 Unicorn from Gundam Unicorn was my second kit. Mixed feelings on this one. It looks phenomenal in both Unicorn and Destroy Modes (Destroy mode pictured) and the all-white kit with the red psychoframe and dark blue accents is minimalistic cool. The downside is that the transformation mechanic is extremely fiddly and makes it very rigid and hard to pose, and it has a very weak waist joint that tends to separate.

The Aile Strike Gundam from Gundam SEED. The Strike was a cool concept, a vanilla suit that could swap out Striker packs to give it different capabilities for different combat requirements. The Aile Striker is the big flight pack that was the most used in the shoe, with movable thrusters and even functional flaps. They sell a kit to also install the Sword Striker pack and Launcher Striker pack onto the Aile Strike and make it into the big, burly Perfect Strike, but I haven't purchased it. I also love the stand that makes it look like it just completed a catapault launch

The Destiny Gundam is from Gundam SEED Destiny is probably my favorite that I've built so far. SEED Destiny as a show was meh, and the character that piloted the Destiny was irredeemably terrible, but the Destiny was one badass machine. Huge sword, huge energy cannon and those big wings. Also, hard to tell, but it has a chromed frame, which looks pretty cool. I have the "Wings Of Light" effect parts, just haven't gotten to installing them

The Gundam 00 Quanta is from the Gundam 00 movie, and I think it might be one of the most absurdly powerful Gundams canonically, maybe only surpassed by the Unicorn Gundam and its siblings, Banshee and Phenex. Again, I love the smooth, clean lines from the 00 series, and the assymetrical aspect of the Quanta is interesting. Comes with one huge rifle/sword, and all those Sword Bits from the left shoulder binder can be assembled to the main sword to make one so large, it requires it's own action stand to support. I haven't played around with that yet, but I really should.

The last Master Grade is the Buster Gundam, also from Gundam SEED. I like that this eschews the usual Gundam color palettes of red, white and blue for a tan, dark green and burn orange. Also, one of it's armaments is a 350mm railgun and the other is a 94mm high-energy rifle. Gotta love that

Gundam Seed was the first show I watched, so I have a Strike as well.

My favorite is my Christmas present to myself last year, the FA-78 Full Armor Gundam from Gundam: Thunderbolt

I've considered getting the Psycho Zaku from Thunderbolt but I read it needs a berkload of room, thanks to the 45 different rocket boosters and launchers and guns

I turned 4 IKEA shadowboxes into 50-car displays for my desk at work. Each row has a theme or is a particular car type.

Sad thing is, this is just a sliver of the collection. Most of it lives in the kind of large flat storage containers that people use for bedding, and there are like 4 or 5 of them. Its a sickness.

The only ones I've bought/showcase are cars that I've owned that have been "worthy" enough to get a diecast made of.

My '00 Trans Am, '05 GTO, '86 E30, and my '06 E61.

I had to find that wagon diecast on eBay from Morocco because I didn't wanna pay the $120+ for the fancier bigger one.

Me too. I am case shopping for sure. I have a lot of reasonably good built kits hidden away for lack of dust proof display cases.

I found these in the car while searching for recoup, er, loose change to use at the vending machine.  Let's see how long the pushpins will hold!

Edit: After looking at them for a few minutes I got annoyed that they weren't lined up evenly and so I spent several attempts fixing that.
