They're gone now but does anybody know what these ovals were used for?
Dog tracks?
The one on the top right was the original dirt track before they expanded to the speedway. The left one might have been a motorcycle death circle.
Hard to judge the scale but maybe they were 1/4 or 1/3 mile dirt tracks for hobby stock racing.

Nothing, they did some foundation work for a dirt track, asphalt short track and drag strip; but only the speedway was completed.

You're right, the original tracks are in the fairground on the other side of the city.
