I have a very interesting scar on my left thumb from when I wrench-punched some torn sheetmetal so hard that I cut the side of my thumb down to the nailbed.
I did that in late summer. It was about New Year's by the time the cut in the side of my thumbnail erupted out into open air and grew out to the point where it could be cut off by regular nail trimming. It was a fascinating demonstration of fingernail growth once past the OMG THE RENT FLESH AND THE BLEEDING AND THE FORECAST IS 100% CHANCE OF PAIN HOYVENGLAVEN
