I got smacked hard enough to cause a blank spot on one retina, look a certain way and the screen goes black. That guy musta took one helluva head shot.

Or a hard hit away from buying a Miata. If you subscribe to that belief.
so if yur contemplating a career change just take a head plant at the gym, it's prolly cheaper than the tens of thousands spent retraining at college or trade schools
YMMV

No, because there's no Pot involved.

Your observations and what you make of them are your own to do with as you will.
But I'm thinking a head-injured Welsh rugby player in a British tabloid may not be a data point I'd want to weight heavily in my personal database...
Moreover, how do you put changes due to head injury/stroke down to "nurture"? I'm thinking that if that's what really is the root of the change, that would be an intrinsic physiological difference. But that's an awful lot of speculation going on right there...

Nurture as in opposite of innate. IE he was not "born this way." My word choice was less than ideal. In this case, a physiological change would be an excellent way to describe it. Major physiological events often cause psychological change. I can't read the article here, but a head injury leading to altered sexual preference seems like an excellent data point against those who would argue that homosexuality is always an innate thing that someone is born with.
Of course, sexual urges of any type are an impulse that can be acted upon rationally, whether in relation to opposite or same sex attractions.
In reply to scardeal:
I guess I see the distinction... I guess I hear more about the assertion that it's a choice than simply that it's any result of some change after birth. I think I'd find the word "intrinsic" more pertinent than "innate". Which is not to say that you mean differently. I just think the pertinent thing is that we are talking about a facet of a human which is a core part of their makeup, as in the electrochemical soup in their head has a preference for chocolate chip cookies over raisin walnut (not a great example, I know...).
Urge vs. action isn't pertinent here, IMHO. We're talking about how someone is, not how they behave. I'm not straight because I only sleep with a female. I'm defined as straight because I only want to sleep with a female.
In any case, I'm not an expert on neurology, physiology, sexuality, or religion. With respect, and observing that I can't possibly claim to know much about you, from a few posts (and possibly your avatar ) I suspect that last item is of central importance. And while I think this is an important topic, I don't have the inclination to have the full-scale discussion just now, and I apologize for starting to follow up on one of your observations and then bailing.
Happened to me. I got hit hard inthe head. Woke up ghey. Luckily the following week I got kicked in the balls and went back straight. I've been wearing a helmet every since.
True story.

The attraction is a feeling, and, as such, isn't something that's actively chosen in a specific instance. However, we can and do make choices that affect over time our attractions. That's exactly how you can explain acquired tastes. Our attractions are also influenced by our experiences. While I admit that some people may be born with a certain makeup that allows them to more easily acquire homosexual traits, I disagree with the notion that someone is innately homosexual, much less intrinsically homosexual.

Agreed. It was a "by the way" sort of comment.

I almost double-majored in theology. I wound up with a minor. I'd say I've got a bachelor's level of competence in theology at this point. It also helps that my wife works with a Catholic therapist who specializes in applying a "Theology of the Body" approach to family and marital relations. So, I'm not entirely talking out of my butt, but I certainly don't have any letters behind my name to qualify as an expert.
To me this tells me that homosexuality is completely natural, it just depends what neural connections your brain has made as it develops.
But who needs that silly science stuff anyway
Only on GRM does a sarcastic mockery of a tabloid article degenerate not into name calling but a detailed and intelligent discussion on brain wiring and influences as it relates to choice.
