But I've been called racist because I dared counter the "spread the wealth" statements he's made...
Yup. That's a B.S. argument. People are trying to drop the atom bomb on the discussion by pulling the race card. A bit like the old usenet rules wherein someone compares you to a nazi. At that point the argument is over because it's gone past the point of rationality. Labelling any disagreement with Obama stances as racism isn't using logic and calm discourse to shape politics. Logic and clam rarely factor in but we all strive don't we?
I don't understand why such an obviously irrational argument is a point of discussion. Has someone on this board done this, if they have I'm sure they got their ass handed to them within a few minutes.

I run into this all the time.
The fact is that usually it is not a one on one argument, it is usually yourself using calm fact and logic against a group of what end up being idiots.
I am a 20 year old male living in Canada, attending school. Do you have any idea what sort of minority that makes me for being Conservative?! I have even expressed the fact that while if I had the choice to vote, I probably wouldn't pick Obama, but now that he is in I hope he does the States well. I have nothing against him, I just hope he can prove me wrong on some of his policies and I can admit I am the idiot!

I thought Bill Clinton was a first black president.
I bet he's gotten more jungle booty than Barrack...
What is jungle booty?
As in "Jungle Love" - white man & black woman, or black man & white woman.
If you name it, Clinton has probably tapped it. Way more often than Obama.
Wow Salinas, superdork, but still a super shiny happy person. I bet you think that was witty and should get you in "reader's comments."
Just checking in on everyone. Everyone playing nicely on this thread?
I guess I should repeat myself. Is everyone playing nicely over here?

Sorry. Posted that while you were issuing your warning.
Edit: Earlier posts deleted since my stupid jokes were apparently in overly-poor taste.
Seeing as how a post just disappeared, I guess the answer is a yes. Good. Remember, we're all car enthusiasts. And I know that we have the best fans in the world--people who may disagree at times but know how to treat each other with respect. That makes me happy.

AIRC, he was the first black female president, just wish I could remember the lead up to that joke, aside from "I feel your pain"
I've decided that the pain we feel is the same as that which one feels upon sqeezing a zit that desperatly needs squeezing.
Finally, it will come to a head, and then we can be done with it.
A crass way to express it. I know. but that's my story...
I just got off the phone with my grandma, and figure she has seen a lot in her lifetime. She's convinced it will get better--it always does, she says.

So...Black women inhabit the jungle? Or white men? Im still confused over this. My white friend married a black women in North Carolina, though neither of them was from the jungle. This saying "Jungle love" doesn't make any sense.
Not arguing that Clinton has or has not slept around going to come from me. Most presidents have, I'm sure. Although I doubt anyone of the many women was from the jungle.
It doesn't make any sense.

Maybe the jungle is a neutral location to meet up for nooky?
I don't know. I think we need to ask Steve Miller.
Urban jungle, or you know, the real jungle?
I'm going to need a Land Rover and a big rifle either way.
"Jungle love, it's makin' me crazy, crazy."
BTW: for the most part the Steve Miller Band blew chunks.

At least we can all agree to hate the Steve Miller Band.

I can get behind that statement.

Wow my little joke caused all this, do you think if I start a thread on an alternator maybe it'll turn into a Porsche

Are there going to be people now who brand anyone who disagrees with our president-elect a racist? I certainly hope not.
I'm sure it'll happen but it wouldn't be any different from when Bush and his supporters branded people unpatriotic when they didn't support the war in Iraq. In fact, I feel that only those that supported the war in Iraq should pay the higher taxes. Afterall it's costing us $10M a day when the unemployment rate is through the roof and people are struggling to feed their families. So where's the money going to come from? magically?
