Fun fact about Green Mountain. The former owner purchased the patent to the k cup design and licensed it out and was making more from the licensing then coffee.

He also invented EZ Wider rolling papers back in the day.

Oh, these sound lovely.  I'm ordering some staples for the pantry from Amazon.  I'll have to add some to the cart.

Keep them coming.

Just ordered some LaVazza.  I'm sure I've tried it somewhere in Europe but don't recall if I liked it.

I just get the house brand Columbian whole bean medium roast at Costco.  It's $5.25/# and comes in a 3# baggie. Doesn't taste like a roasted turd... smiley

How smug is it to say I roast my own?

How much does it help my image if I say I got my roaster from Publix?

I have a Bali wet hulled that is delicious when roasted dark-medium

How smug is it to say that a buddy of mine used to roast his own til I showed him where I get my coffee and now he does the same? Dave Stewart, of Stuart bros coffee, has a roasting plant like 20 minutes from my house. Vista Clara Coffee co. Yesterday was roasting day. There ain't nuthin like buyin a bag of coffee that's still warm. Fresher is just better and that's that. Heck it's still better at 1 month than the stuff that's been in warehouses and shelves for who knows how long. He goes all over the equator, searching out and buying the good stuff. It starts to come into focus as to why he didn't retire when Starbucks bought Stuart bros... oh and yeah they ship.

Local coffee roaster for me for good coffee, and the big Dunkin bucket/bag you get at Costco.

MOM's Organic Market (Baltimore, Maryland chain) has a house roast they do called "Boyfriend Blend".  It's a dark, rich, warm hug in a mug.  It's become our go-to; we stocked up on 3 pounds of it before the quarantine hit.  It's also relatively inexpensive, at around $9 a pound.

Trade Joes has some decent coffees too, like their Ethopian Organic.

We both take our coffee strong and black.  No cream, no sugar.

Cafe Bustello Espresso roast

That's my go-to.  Available in whole bean and even K-cups if you are forced to use the damn things like I am at work.

I only like dark roasts.  I'm also a fan of Peet's French Roast and Major Dickason's Blend:

I used to get it from Hansa, which is up in Libertyville, because my brother used to work there. But he is out of that business now so I don't get it from them, although I still recommend their coffee - just too far. Arguably my favorite.

Around here, I like Brewpoint in Elmhurst. I remember Blackberry Market in Glen Ellyn had excellent coffee, but I'm not sure if they roast their own - I think they may use LaVazza or Intelligencia.
