amazon is out of CE though...
Don't know what I was looking at earlier, but the damage, fuel, and tire wear are still tied together.
Any available Collectors Edition is likely worth it just for the extra game content, you might pay close to that if you decide to download it from xbox live later.
I figured the other extra trinkets like the book are just bonuses.

Also, we will have this game (with the Fanatec wheel and a Kinnect set up) AT THE CHALLENGE on Friday night. Yes, you can play. It's a good day to be a journalist...So, uh, what's that little key/usb drive thingamabobber there?
The USB key has some promo video bits and still images from the game that make it easy to include screenshots and whatnot for articles.
If you import a FM3 profile, you get lots of goodies and unlocks.
I'm proud to report that I'm #1 in the world at Fujimi Kaido downhill. Actually, I was the first to post a leaderboard time at the old downhill course period. I almost got a little choked up over that, despite the narrow field of competition.

Awesome!!! So there's actually an option to import your FM3 profile? Can you bring over some cars too? LOL
Oh, congrats on the world record time sir!!!
I ordered mine from Overstock: Forza 4 CE They had the best price I found.
Are you guys really going to have a GRM race series? If so has anyone volunteered to be the administrator yet? I don't even own an Xbox but I may get one just to be able to join you for a Forza4 series.
After playing with it some, I think the administration is going to be MUCH easier. I'll probably pony up as an Car Club admin, but I don't have all the details on how that's set up yet.
There will be a GRM car club in place when you get your copy. There are all sorts of competition modes for car clubs, and we can work together to increase the ranking of the club itself when not racing with one another. I think Turn10 listened when people complained about limited multiplayer race options...there's a ton of stuff to do with this game.
This link has info about some of the 'Import stuff from FM3' in it...

From looking at their track lists online, I'm betting we're going to get really really sick and tired of the Top Gear Test Track in career mode. They have no fewer than ten variations of that thing (three are different length drag strips though). I mean, it is an airport track, right? So... basically going different directions down a bunch of straights. Awesome.
It's a figure 8 as well, so I'm guessing there isn't much in the way of racing on it. I have seen some things that refer to some sort of driving 'tests', and that may be what most of the different parts are used for.
Just played the demo. I set it to expert and there were a few things I liked. The steering system has a more realistic feel to it.
Looking forward to seeing if they have done anything different for drifting. In case someone didn't notice, my avatar is wearing a drift race suit.
ya expert + full sim settings on forza 4 I managed plenty of tank slappers with the new steering model... I liked the car interior mode more... should be good fun
sad though i'm only 20% though forza 3... but level 46 driver lol starting to see some 2-3% finishes now.. going to shoot for lvl 50 before the game comes at least... but I know with GT3 I had a very hard time going back to GT2 trying to finish/beat that game lol

Im sure we can look forward to plenty of GRM wraps. Myself and some others, I'm sure will see to that.
The steering model in FM4 is very different. I've had plenty of tank slappers and you know what, I'm glad. It forces you to drive smoother, although a steering wheel would be great.
What grassroots steering wheels are worth while? I have a Logitech DFP for the computer (and PS if I had one), but sadly it isn't XBox compatible.

Does anyone make a steering wheel that's Xbox and PS3 compatible?
My daughter asked about an X-Box last night. I think "she" might get one for Xmas so "she" can play "her" games like oh I don't know, I'll just grab something here...let's see...what's this FORZA game all about?

The super-nice Fanatec wheel is compatible with Xbox, PS3 and PC. It's pretty awesome, but not a grassroots solution in terms of budget.
In reply to Graefin10:
Fanatec is the only one that makes cross-platform wheels.
Quite pricey I may add . . . $250 for just the wheel, that's right . . . no pedals. That's $30 extra for the base pedals
Just a quick check and the CSR wheel is $250, shifters are $60, pedals are $150 or I can get the $20 adapter and pick up some G25/7 pedals.
A little pricey for my blood for a video game.
So Tom Heath...
Does this thing...
