This is one of my coworkers discovered when he lifted a '96 Taurus that we were stripping.

The really sad part is all of that plumbing crap probably cost more than a plain jane exhaust

Wow. That is special. Im guessing they had a bushing to connect the steel with whats left of the exhaust, or just the flex pipe? Good news is, you can take that off the car and fix a gas line with it...

That's so punny I just might have to go do something else. I thing I just heard a water main burst.

I count nine exhaust clamps, five exhaust adapters, eleven various threaded pipe fittings plus probably two pounds of exhaust sealer putty. Oh, and about three feet of flexible exhaust tubing. Between Home Depot and Advance, musta been a helluva day.

I... uhh... kinda like it. In a "My wife has to get to work the next day, it's 2AM and I have a bunch of plumbing supplies - she'll never know the difference" kinda way.

I actually was kinda wishing there would be more iron pipe fittings after the first picture. No idea why a 200 lb exhaust would impress me, except maybe in a steampunk kinda way.

Not quite 200lb, but it's a serious tank. 1/8" wall pipe and muffler wall construction and 3/16" end caps.

Isn't the idea of this website all about improvising? Hell, if a guy can build a replica of an old Japanese car, using sheetmetal from old appliances, what's wrong with this guy patching up his exhaust with a berkeley-ton of E36 M3 he probably had laying around the house/garage/basement?

Bully for him.
