It's been one of those days where everyone around me has been acting weird - some of our otherwise normal customers have been bordering on raving psycho weird. I hate to complain, as at least there are warm bodies in the shop, but it's just really bizarre. Anyone give any credence to the "people act funny during a full moon thing?" Ah E36 M3. Now I sound like the raving psycho.
It's a typical Friday in the service business; FUBAR. So far as I can tell, there's no full moon-ness involved. But the day ain't over yet.

I had a guy walk up to the service counter and ask when our next AVAILABLE appointment was. I inform him that the next service date is August 28th for non emergency service. "I need an emergency oil change" I reply with "Sweet I will schedule it the 28th! To which he went on a tirade and started screaming at me on the counter that he deserves to be served right this moment. My boss from behind me speaks up and says "No problem! We can get the car in today, would you like to pick it up the morning of the 28th or at night?"

Sadly, it's not really "Friday" for me. Just can't wait to get home, lock the doors, and slip into a nice warm coma.
I did have the woman who brought her 300C (Hemi) in for an oil change, 29,900 miles. Bought it here, has had it (indifferently) maintained during that time.Due for a big service. Hand her the brochure, it's $660.00. The cussin' starts. 'Just change the %^&$#@ oil! Ain't no car need no ^%$#(& $660.00 service!' Okey doke.
Oil change is done, time to pay the bill, $49.05. Yeah, that's what a Hemi oil change costs. 'I ain't never paid no fu%$^in' $50 for no fu&^%in' oil change on any &^%@#$ car I ever owned and I ain't &$%#*& startin' now!'

Not bad, my boss took his Charger SRT8 in and it cost him $100 at the Jiffy Lube type place. Something about synthetic oil.............
Yeah, the 6.1 uses 0W40 Mobil 1. The MDS Hemi uses 5W20. Trivia: if the wrong oil is used in a Multiple Displacement System HEMI, it will set a check engine light for wrong oil viscosity.
HAH my oil changes START at $50.00 our average service is $85.00 and if you drive a Touareg, A8 or Phaeton (pronounced Pay-uh-ton) you better have a great miles program on your Visa.

I never will understand why folks buy an expensive car, new or used, then expect it to run right when they fail to maintain it properly, or try to save money with cheap parts..
On a not very similar note, I deliver pizzas and tonight I had a woman go ballistic when i told her her medium pizza, 10 hot wings, and cinnamon-coated bread sticks would cost her $23.00 delivered to her door. Problem? She had 3 coupons and one was for free wings. REAL PROBLEM? As I showed her on the coupons, it says 1 coupon per order, only. She wanted to use 3 and the idiot at the call center allowed for 2. She felt she should have all that food, delivered hot to her door, for a TOTAL of $11.00....TAX INCLUDED (and the tax in this part of Tn. is about 10%)
