I'm digging the knife and mag light ideas.
Keep'em coming!!!
HappyAndy:
Bought each of mine a really nice leather wallet. Didn't break the bank and everyone seemed pretty pleased with it.
I got individual gifts for each one of the groomsmen. I got my brother a beer mug with his nickname and wedding date engraved (brother loves beer), got my best friend a very nice fishing knife that has a line cutter and mini led built into it - initials engraved into it (he loves fishing), got my brother-in-law a hunting knife with his initials engraved (he's just a collector).
I had a tough time, I had all kinds of ideas, and finally just selected things I knew they would use. I've received some crappy groomsmen gifts before that I've just stuffed away. I wanted my gifts to be something the guys would use.
I got mine absolutely nothing. It was very cheap. It was a shoestring wedding, they all understood money was tight. Heck, if it wasn't for our dollar dances we wouldn't have had a honeymoon.
Leatherman/Maglight/Knife is pretty solid options. Everyone has a bunch and can always use more. If they don't have one, you just changed their life. Everyone wins!
$30 will get you a pretty solid simple knife, leatherman, or maglight.

I was in a wedding where we all got 64oz flasks. Engraved, nice gifts.

Yea, even up here, EVERYONE enjoys a cigar while drinking. I have asthma and I still have the occassional one, a nice zippo is on my too buy list
We all got a freaking subscription to Playboy and engraved flask at the last wedding that I was a part of. All of us groomsmen were single at the time.

I love cigars, but I'm terrified that if I have one, my insurance company would drop me the moment I need to really use my coverage (Declared non-smoker; saves me $60/mo).
When one of my very good friends got married a few years ago, he got all the groomsmen monogrammed polished aluminum beer coozies. (We all tailgate together during football). Only downside is that it's really too nice to use for tailgating.
I also went with pocket knives, simple Gerbers, and for my best man/brother a nice engraved watch that clips to his belt loop. Wrist watches give him a terrible rash and he never saw a nice clip on.
I was in my bro-in-laws wedding about a year ago... we got a very nice engraved keychain (prob from "things remembered")... I pulled it out of the drawer to toss it into a box last night because we're moving... I haven't looked or touched it other than to get it into that drawer... :-/
a decent knife would have been a much better option...
I received this from a wedding I was best man at.

Engraved and the best groomsman gift ever! I did get a pretty sweet flask with a mustache on it at another wedding I was in though.
Things Remembered stuff I have found to do little other than take up space. Booze (including wine and beer) is always a good gift. I once got a watch: good idea, but the one I got wasn't my style and I've worn it probably a dozen times in 8 years.
For my groomsmen, I bought their "accessories" for our wedding: ties, socks, etc.
A friend of mine got his groomsmen football helmets from their favorite teams. One of the guys doesn't like football so he got a nice G-Force helmet.
Realistic things I'd want: A Fisher Space Pen , a nice knife/multi-tool, scotch, craft beers, sunglasses (you know, if you need your groomsmen to have the same shades at an outdoor wedding
