I want to get some free or stupid cheap business cards for SCCA use. Name, phone number, SCCA links, some sort of racing related background or clipart. I haven't looked in years, what are some good sources online?

Some of the online stuff like vista print if you can put up with the spam to follow or hoops to get to the cheap cards. For small numbers you can buy pre-perfed card templates to run through your printer.

Looks like Kinkos is $15 for 250. I seem to recall seeing a lot of TV ads for vistaprint.

It might be worth finding an independent printing shop and seeing what they'd charge for a run of one or two color cards.

Last place I worked at, A CHEAP SODA-POP COMPANY wouldn't even have cards printed. They had the office manager print them on the perf paper card stock. How cheap is that? And I'm talking a billion dollar corporation.

I've used Vistaprint. They are a pretty good deal provided you don't 'upgrade' your cards with glossy paper or two sided printing.

I asked the Facebooks last night. I heard Vistaprint and FedEx. I used to print my own years and years ago, but I haven't had a real printer since I moved 4 years ago (my old Epson wide format photo way too vintage). I guess I could print some B&W on my laser printer at work.

Guess I'll see what Vistaprint has to offer today.

Vistaprint and Fedex.

Smart McLastMinuteston forgot to order them for an event and the local Fedex turned em around the same day @ $30/250 of the one color, heavy stock, and glossy variety. If I . . . er . . . Mr. McLastMinuteston had sent the order in 7 days in advance it would've been something like $15-20.

Just remember, this is something that represents your club and reflects on the SCCA as a whole. I'm all for skimping on costs, but try not to skimp on the design! It's better to have no pictures at all than clip art.

On the front, I'd make sure to have who you are, what this means to the cardholder, and how to connect. Something like "MyRegion SCCA - A Cheap, legal, and safe way to have fun with your car - myregionwebsite.com" would do nicely.

On the back, your annual schedule would be awesome. If not, a coupon for $5 off an event and a place for the member to write in their SCCA number for referral discounts (both the newb and the cardgiver get it) is a good idea.

The goal is to get more members to attend one event so they can choose for themselves. More members mean more chapter dues and more event revenue. This means paying more than zero is a good idea.

Here's what I threw together for my club. I think it could be better, but it might give you some design ideas! http://kylini.com/ul/DMVR%20Front%20New.pdf

Excellent ideas, thanks! I did a quick test-run at work with Vistaprint, and my "free" cards cost me $8 plus s/h with a promo code. Wondering what I missed...
