Just PLEASE don't limit tires on the hot hatches.
After nascar at lemans for last ROC i kinda am hurting for a spec RACE series. The CM and SBC classes have relied on low grip to require ability, the spec MX5 has been very close because the cars are the same, but are alow enough to be really forgiving. Turn up the wic, make the spec series a screamer spec! OR, make hot hatches very high power, Race tires, to make it QUICK (read, also easy to get over your head with) Open the tires up because while race softs are fast, they will never make the distance... It would be good for pitstops/ strategy to be a big part of it.
In short, open up on the tires making sure that people get enough rope to hang themselves with it!
Hmmm...
A couple things:
I miss the pit stops from the first series. I guess I just dumb-lucked into it, but the race distance was just about perfect where the tires were worn at the end. If you made a pit stop early, at the end of the race you were catching those who didn't pit by a few seconds a lap.
Comfort tires have been used to date because they force you to drive a car at the limit. Race tires hide bad driving technique.... but I want to keep this fun, so....
Here is what I propose:
Thoughts?

Here is what I propose: - Hot Hatch can use any Sport tire compound. - We replace Spec M3 with a Spec RM (I am thinking Z06s?) and allow the running of any Race tire compound. - Faster cars = shorter races. So we increase the race distance back to ~50 miles to allow for pit/tire strategy in both classes Thoughts?
I liked Spec M3... personally, i'd rather make the Hot Hatch series the one to give enough rope to hang with, as ApexCarver put it.
But really, i'm cool with either.

Having driven an over-powered FWD for SBC, I'm not looking forward to that again.
I just tested a M3 in Spec condition, and I was a bit underwhelmed to be honest. The MX5s feel faster. I think to make it exciting we would have to go away from a spec setup.
I am also thinking about making HH a performance point based series. Then you could do whatever, up to the PP level. Theoretically this should account for aero components. You'll still be able to hang yourself, it will just require less rope.

Well in that case, go ahead with the Z06!!!
Well, in regards to the Hot Hatch series... then let's use the Sport tires as the limiter, and leave the rest open. The cars with the huge power won't be able to put it down til 100mph, and they won't handle as well because the big power cars are typically heavier. It'll force people to test and figure out which car is best for their driving style, and maybe give a bigger variety in choices. You don't have to drive an over-powered FWD car if you don't want to. Back in the old GT4 tourneys, my fastest FWD cars were the Mitsubishi Cyborg and the Mitsu FTO. The FTO wouldn't be eligible in this class anyways, but that was my 400+hp bruiser. The Cyborg was just as fast with 150hp less.
Instead of everyone showing up with a Honda EK Type R. (DO NOT WANT.)
Both the Silvia and NSX are a bit down on power compared to the rest... here is a couple choices:
These each cost less than $500k, and have ~400+ hp, and are premium cars.
TVR!! TVR!! I love mine
The ISF RM is too crazy and the Camaro is rubbish sounding in RM. The TVR is a perfect race car to run a Spec series.
I am going to be hatin' that FWD hatch class, since I hate FWD. But I will do it, you know, for you guys... did I mention I hate FWD. Whatever I end up with it WILL oversteer whether it wants to or not!
For the spec class, any of those are fine, I lean towards the Z06. Which ever one is heaviest might be an option (more tire wear).
Note: racing the computer SUCKS! I'd rather run a FWD race in a damage car (that's saying a lot) against you guys then run a race against the computer.
Another series note: I still think it would be fun to do some sort of swap race at some point (doesn't have to be next time). Maybe race a few races, the do a swap (random car assignment), we would then have to gift the car to the other person.
Or... institute the always popular CLAIM RULE!!! (dramatic music). You can claim anybodies car, and make them switch (dramatic music). Doesn't have to be because it is a better car, you can do it just to mess with them...

How's about..... Spec LF-A?

HAHAHA!!!! I LOVE the claim rule!
The Z06 is the heaviest and most powerful, it should shred tires effectively.
We can swap the Caterhams out for the SBC shuffle race. I would suggest that the swaps are done by reversing the final points order. So whoever finishes last would get aircooled's Europa, and then aircooled could drive a pink Celica for the ROC.

Awwww... i didn't think i was last...
I am SO sandbagging so i can have the Europa.
I'm going to look like an idiot when Aircooled destroys everyone in the "Pink Silly," though.
