There were several times I could catch you in the Firblade but there was no room for a clean pass. Sure was tempting a couple of times though

I'll work on your advise on braking while following. Makes sense. Watching the replays this morning revealed several areas I need to work on in order to improve. Braking is #1. I noticed both you and Apex going way deeper into several key turns than I did.

Yes, White Volvo. I don't recall that one. I was so tired I put the brain in auto. pilot for that one. I ran a couple of qual. laps near my record @ Tsukuba though. I gave no thought to tire preservation and burned them off coming out of the corners. That let you and Apex by. I knew I had nothing to loose so I ran too deep in the last turn, last lap hoping to find a way around Apex and ran off into the sand. I've been buying potential HH contenders ever since it was decided we'd run them next and finally settled on the Volvo. I was very tempted by the CRZ though. I don't understand how that car can be so fast. It's so close to the Volvo it's tempting. My actual favorite though is the Honda Civic R. I'd love to have a real one.

I didn't get damage or a penalty from that hit, but it did send me off into the sand. Went from P2 to P last on the deal. I'm pretty sure I was holding the train up at that point anyway. I figured I'd already be in the back of the pack by then, so when Ieft the GP track in P2 I was a bit shocked.

I really dont know how I pulled out that kind of distance in the caterham race. I was suspecting that I was the only one to brave the SS tires. (I was thinking if they didnt last, the speed difference might compensate for a pit stop, plus easier to drive.

Grae, let me know what you think of the retuned suspension. The rear will slide, but it wont bite unless you somewhat abuse it. At the end of the SBC race I was wearing out. That is the reason I spun it a few times in the last lap.

Back with GT4 I did a lot of lapping of the ring. so I guess I do somewhat have it memorized (which helps a lot!) the other thing is that I was concentrating on not pushing too hard. Just feed it into and out of the turns and maintain speed. Ended up working out for me I guess.

I would have been on you for a bit Apex, if I didn't get that cut penalty. But you are correct about knowing the course. I don't know it that well (there is a lot to know) and had to be cautious in a few spots, so even if I was right behind you, you probably would have pulled away eventually.

I ran the soft tires also. They seemed to last fine. The only reason mine were a little worn was because of the spins.

Celica: I got the Europa back. I have to say I am surprised, it's not as radical a change as I suspected, actually quite drivable. You may not have the same reaction to he Pink Machine, I changed it a LOT.

I changed it big time when i was testing at Tsukuba, but softened it up quite a bit for The Ring. I didn't spend enough time practicing, took me a little bit to get the hang of it, then of course got dropped right as i did.

Your settings on the Pink Machine confused me badly.

However, that car is now wearing Racing Soft tires and a huge rear wing, and some more power. I think i'll be trolling some online rooms this weekend with it.

The 4 cars I've raced in the 2 GRM Series are shared online in their last race state. Have a spin, see how you do in them.

Good pics, I saved the SBC, so I will try and gets some pics if I remember.

Why are there so many pic of the orange car spinning?

A note on the Carousels at the ring: As I remember Graefin did a nice loop behind me on one. The trick (that I know of) is you have to go through them with NEUTRAL THROTTLE, just kind of glide through them. Interestingly, if you watch the video below (from another thread) you can see that when he goes through the Carousels, the g meter is centered accel / decel wise.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yKb6iSWc0k

(I can't test this link, so hopefully it works)

This is also just kind of interesting to watch after running the race. The depiction seems pretty accurate. He runs about the same speed as the Fireblades and seems to get a bit sideways in the same corners.

I know what you mean about using nuetral throttle in the carousels. I just don't have enough finesse with the controller triggers to get it right every time I ran a few laps @ Monza sunny this morning and the Z06 should help me learn some finesse. I'm going to try to get a little better in the dry and then lock it on rain. Rain willl be a huge problem for both of the new classes.

Apex., I ran a whole lap of the Ring in the Cosmo and found it to be very driveable. It's definately not as tail happy as any of my settings. I never would have thought to soften up all the settings that much. I didn't have any major offs on that lap and could actually catch it if the rear came out. I got 155 top speed on the main straight.

Brad, it looked like you had a good set up on the Isuzu. Most of the time it looked good. I noticed it too was a little top end limited. I bought one of those because I sort of like the looks of it. Some day I'll get around to building it and giving it a shot.

It's interesting to take a good look @ that field of SBC cars. Each one of them chosen for different attributes. The Europa was a rocket off the line. The two FWD cars were had tiny engines and little torque but were very light wt. I suspect Celica might like Celicas. The Elan is quite fast in a straight line and . . . well I don't know what else. I chose the Cosmo because I was broke and didn't have time to seach the options like I would have liked to. It's also interesting to listen to the different engine sounds of all of them. I think the developers captured them quite well. The Isuzu sounds like a modified tractor engine

Orange is the slippery-ist color... or cause TJ and I picked the exact same color and neither of us had our best race.

I think I'll go with the former.

Nick, do you have any idea why your i/net won't stay connected during the race? The next series starts next Wed. and we need to see you there. I always put my computer to sleep during the races. I don't know why but my computer and PS don't like to be online simultaneously.

I don't know what you guys do to piss off your PS3 so much. I don't shut anything down. Could it be firewall settings?

I don't know man, I really don't know. My PS3 is close as hell to the router, I fixed my DNS stuff, I have 85-100% signal, I have Type 2, I just don't understand it. I notice also if people not in our group join it screws me all up to. I know Graefin, I want to be there to! Even with no computers on and my phone off still. I have decent DSL and a router but still.....I just don't berkeleying get it Iwould mess with my firewall settings but that's the last thing I need is a virus on my computer or whatever
