The museum site is about 25-30 miles from the house. Apparently they are hosting a car, motorcycle, tractor show along with regular events the weekend after next. No vehicles less than 25yrs old are allowed.

Is it worth a visit with or without a bonus show?

Here's a link to the museum's webpage: http://coolspringpowermuseum.org/

If this is the place up near punxy, I was there a few weeks ago when they started up all the big engines.

It was cool for a day. You can only see sooo many single cylinder hit and miss engines and still be interested. I imagine spending more time talking with the people rebuilding and running the engines would be awesome. They were a little busy during the big event.

The show would probably cool.

A guy that I used to work with was BIG TIME into antique hit and miss engines, tractors, and all that stuff. He used to sit at the desk behind me and every so often you'd just hear this "puff puff puff puff" noise as he'd have a Youtube video up just watching an old engine run .

Every weekend it seemed he was running around to some show or auction or horse trading parts with other collectors. He even scratch built fully functional scale models of some particular engine, for which he seems to be pretty well renowned among that community. It's supposedly like a several year wait to have him build one of those models for you.

Some of that stuff apparently trades for big money too, deep into 5 and even 6 figures for rare and desirable models. Weird, just a whole world I never knew existed

No cars less than 25 years old... I really hope someone shows up in a 1992 Camry.

You had my hopes up for a second, but that is nowhere near Atlanta...

Sorry, Brian

I relocated nearly two years ago after my Dad passed away and Mom broke a hip.
