So, My dad knows the way. They've been as far as the second signs. Thats where you can see the tahoes sitting atop the mountains with spotting scopes watching to see if you cross that point. They stopped to take pictures, and both tahoes on the ridges started coming down. Dad decided it was time to go.

That was us. Wife freaked when the f-150 lights came on, and it moved into position. My heart rate went up. First time I've ever sweated nervous bullets in a car while going slow. Driving after the a51 workers was thrilling. Seeing them was incredible. Not sure how many people can say they've seen or met someone that works there. Had I been a nut job, or an shiny happy person, I would've tailed them back to whatever houses they were going to. But I'm sane (sort of), and realize these are regular joes like you and me. They have families, and houses, and bills. They aren't extraterrestrials. And their jobs? Keeping this country at the top of the list. No one should mess with that. 

Running secret plates seems like a good way to get flagged by the system.....

Very cool story!  Yeah, you're definitely on at least one list...

Im currently reading Area 51 by Annie Jacobsen. Even without the alieums,  the stories in the book are pretty wild. 

Most of what Ive read so far is related to the U-2 and A-12 projects.

If you are going to the "High Desert" you might want to visit this site...

I used to leave the radio on his show when I slept at night. I would have weird dreams. Sometimes I would wake up in the middle of the night to hear something really strange. 

No other nighttime radio show has ever been able to replace him.

They use Raptors now.  I met a couple guys who are contractors at The Tonopah test range and they say Groom/A51 is no big deal any more.

One of the guys jobs is to remote drive specially modified drone Jeep Cherokees that are used for target practice at the test range. How cool would that be!
