I traveled I65 yesterday and today across Indiana.
Why are you all doing the 65mph speed limit and then the other truck pulls out and passes you going no faster than 65-1/4mph. What happened to putting the "hammer down"? Then I fly up doing 80mph and spend 4 minutes waiting for you to pass each other so I can scroll it back up to 80mph.
And why did I see 3 different heavily tinted newer black Tahoe's with young ladies driving them; one in a military uniform.
Also am I the only guy that watched Movin' On?
$4.00 per gallon diesel fuel is what happened.
Some trucks had speed limiters set to 65 or so, a friend had that on his truck when he drove for Werner.
Not sure about the Tahoes and ladies, probably government vehicles.

I think it's speed limiters on the trucks. It's even better when you get to a hill and the truck thats just spent 10 min inching past the other suddenly can't keep up and the right lane truck starts inching ahead, starting the whole process all over again. It especially sucks here in Alberta because the speed limit is 110kmh and most of the trucks in Canada seem to be limited to 100kmh, which is the limit outside AB and SK.
It's definately the speed limiters, I have to have mine set to 105km to go to Mt Tremblant every year because the Canadian police can hook into your ecm and checkbit, if it's not set, you lose.
Sucks when the event is before the Road America event because then I'm stuck at sixty-whatever mph that works out to.
Usually my limiter is set at 105 mph.
A lot of fleet and larger companies have it set for insurance purposes, 62-65mph gets them a better rate.
I have seen worse. There is a bus company around here.. Academy. Each hub competes to bring in the most profits and they hire brand new drivers.
One of the hubs governed all their buses to 50mph... think about that.. that is 15mph SLOWER than the speedlimit.
They got in trouble for that.
While I understand the need to save fuel and lives by governing the trucks.. there are times when going faster than the speedlimit is safer
I know it is a pain, but I give big rigs a break most of the time. These guys are at work, they have to deal with limiters, crappy drivers, regulations and hills they can hardly climb. Plus it's not easy, shift, shift, shoot a hooker, shift, shift...
At least when I got out of driving.. we could still all tuck nose to tail and do 80 to 90 up the NJ Turnpike...

To make sure what was on that truck got to where where it was supposed to go and no one messed with it. You wouldn't believe the security systems in some of those trailers. You would be happy to know this is all for your safety.
