I think I need one of these, but for about 1/3 of the price
I used something like this in the field, kept sand and spiders out and classified stuff in; but then I only had one subject.
Has anyone ever used one of the note taking tablets?

If something like that existed which also had scanning capability, I would be interested.
Scenario 1: I am in a meeting and need to take notes
This is easily handled, it seems, by tons of choices for e-note takers
Scenario 2: I am handed a piece of paper at a meeting, and wish to scribble on it and keep it.
I don't see anything that can do this. It seems odd, because my phone has an adobe app to scan and make a pdf. It seems easy to build that fuinctionality into one of those tablets, yet none seem to have it.
Still seems that there is no pencil/paper ish note taking tablets with a camera/scanner. This seems like a huge miss. I don't want a full scale tablet, but that seems like the only answer if I want to go paperless.
Otherwise I am back at an accordian folder, but there are a lot pf papers.

Seem like you are looking for a Rocket Book:
its a hybrid solution that may provide the right balance.
OK, I found an accordian folder, and bought a timbuk2 briefcase.
I still don't love it, but it's better organized.
Maybe I brought the wrong Timbuk2, no room for lunch, no sleeves for pens. It is super well built and nice looking though, and I don't feel like I'm 16 rolling up with my bookbag.
I still wish there was a notetaking&scanning tablet I could find.
I hate paperwork, but it is a necessary evil.
I set up auto billpay for all of my utilities. The township didn't have it until recently and I had so many late payment notices because I kept forgetting or losing the bill.
Evernote is fantastic. I use it for all kinds of things. Another great phone app is CamScanner. It's free with ads, but it uses your phone's camera to make PDFs. It's handy enough that I use it instead of walking the arduous 5 steps to the scanner in the office.
I have an all-in-one printer at home and I use it to scan receipts. Then I have a redundant digital copy and a paper copy. The paper part goes in a small file bin. The only time I ever open that thing is to put papers in it, or sell/buy a car and need to get the title.
I really wish I could find software/hardware that I can press a button for certain tasks. When I scan a receipt, I have to open my documents folder, then select one of about 8 subfolders (separated out for a certain car, a utility, or home appliances, etc), name the file, etc. I would love it if there were a scanner with a button. Put a document in it and press the blue button for a car receipt, the red button for an appliance receipt, or the yellow button for an insurance document for instance.
