I was out with some friends this past weekend and got talking to someone who works in the accounting department for one of the companies involved in the cleanup and the workers get paid time and a half, have to sleep on cots attached to the truck and get 15 bucks a day to cover all food.

So, that makes them almost volunteers. Sucky.

Ijust got back home after being in Eunice LA for almost two weeks.

My Guard unit got activated on the first, moved down to LA on the 5th and got back home on the 20th. We ended up ot doing a whole lot because the storm hit to the west of us, but we pumped a lot of money into the local economy.

Driving about 2800 miles at 50 mph is not much fun but hopefully we did some good.
