Boo. New fangled apps making things easier. Takes the fun right out of ruining a bunch of film you put loads of effort into.

That's what is so exciting about film; so many different failure points along the path compared to using half decent digital camera made in the last 20 years. And finding out well after there's anything you can do about it. Super fun!
Ok guys. Ive ruined two rolls of film here. Something is berky with my Pentax K-1000.
The sprocket advance is doing its thing, the film winder doesnt do jack. Something I cam figure out on my own, or drop off?

It's been a million years since I was inside one of those, but I think the mechanism is under the bottom plate. Pull that off and have a look - it may be something obvious.
Just got an email from Freestyle announcing preorders for the Rollei 35AF: $799 for silver, $828 for black, expected on 18 Oct. I'd be pretty tempted if I had the money lying around (hint: someone buy my Audi already).
In reply to 02Pilot :
I'd equally be tempted if I had that sort of money on hand–though I'd also probably have twice as many cameras as I do now!
In reply to Colin Wood :
I already have far too many, but it's a well-known fact that the correct number of cameras is N+1.

It's a thing with the K-1000. I got my wife's camera back from Garry's last year for the same reason. It's one of those fixes he sees a lot of.
In reply to Mezzanine :
No, just held it and focused it. It felt like a slightly lighter Leica but with a pretty real light meter.
Its owner is here on the forum, though. :)
Mezzanine said:Ooh, neat! I've always wanted a CLE.
Did you get to shoot with it at all?
It's mine, finally been able to shoot with it consistently. It's been an interesting experience since my initial issues I've had were mostly mechanical (rangefinder alignment was off and while I can do a barnack alignment, this was too daunting for me to attempt). May need a more thorough service like cleaning the shutter speed dial contacts since the meter occasionally likes to occasionally be jumpy, but its been mostly consistent and just fun to shoot with.
While I do enjoy my manual mechanical rangefinders, I do love ease of aperture priority.

Aperture priority is cool. Have you had any issues with servicing the Minolta or are you doing it all yourself? I saw that parts are NLA which, I admit, gave me some pause.

My local lab did the alignment, viewfinder cleaning and fixed the slow rangefinder came issue, they probably can fully diagnose issues on it though. The alignment on the CLE isn't lke a barnack leica or the Russian and Japanese copies.
There is a guy in California that can repair them and from reading the groups on Facebook, he was a former tech at Minolta back in the day and serviced them. I think the main issue on the CLE is even if you half press the shutter, it doesn't have AE lock so occasionally it will underexpose a shot if you aren't careful. Supposedly some of the parts of the CLE are shared with the XG series SLRs, but I am not sure which.
It does make me curious how are the other aperture priority M mount rangefinders are, like the Leica M7, Bessa R2a or an Hexar RF.
Got some scans back yesterday, including some shots from last month’s Miata Night in Orlando. This is Reformed Day Shots 400 shot with my Canon A-1 and a 100/2.8.

Found myself looking at M6s again last night. We’ll see where that goes, if anywhere.

I do recall M6 prices stabilizing after the new release came out. So it might be interesting to see the next few months or so.
I am kind of drawn into the M7, but realistically I think m2 pricing is about my limit.
Got back four rolls of scans on Friday and still going through them. (It was a busy weekend). Very happy with the results.
The film and location for this one aren’t as exotic as you’d think: This is Dani on Fujifilm 400–you can buy it at the drug store–photographed with a dinky tree on the side of a street in downtown Winter Park, Florida. Canon A-1 with a 100/2.8.

I originally thought than a Leica M3 would be the one for me, plus it would be cool to have two different M3s, right?
But then I realized I want an internal light meter. Yes, you can use your phone, a traditional light meter, etc., but knowing how I shoot, I’d like an internal light meter. I’m thinking the M6 delivers that plus the traditional mechanical shutter. It does come at a price, though.
I got my scans back including some using Harman Phoenix 200.
I really like it in overcast conditions. Some of the shots from the photowalk in WInter Park, of course I missed focus using the 50mm 1.4 OM lens. I continue to struggle focusing wide open with an SLR.
Some from the Winter Park shoot
These look cool. I’ll be at the Hilton Head concours this weekend. Yes, I’ll have my film gear with me.
