I have owned what has been called one of the world's ugliest cars, a Triumph Herald. That is the very model of the pinnacle of automotive styling compared to that Tatra.

It makes a Daimler SP250 look purty.

I don't understand why so many people find the Herald ugly. I think it's quite a handsome looking thing. Even the Vitesse, with its weird, angled headlights, ain't that bad.

I'm with Luke. I find the Herald to be a pretty decent looking car. The tatra is freakish, but yeah, I'd pay a nickle for that sideshow.

The Herald was boxy, misproportioned and the headlight 'eyebrows' looked like they were stolen off of a 1957 Chevy. To me, it just wasn't real pretty. My GF at the time said 'it's so ugly it's cute'. I just couldn't let the thing go to the crusher, so I rescued it.

Now, I find the estate wagon to be pretty nicely proportioned. I think it would make a pretty cool DD.

I would love to at least drive a Tatra someday. Owning one would be a lot of fun, methinks, but keeping it moving with the original powerplant may be a challenge in the US.

I think the Triumph Herald looks nice, even the "angry eyebrows" model. I really can't imagine why anyone would think it's ugly.

If it weren't for the front, just looking at the belt line and roof, I would think that was a tarted up Corvair.

Nope, it's Tatra. The Nazi's liked the cars when they invaded so they kept building them through the war. Every one else on both sides of the conflict stated building tanks/planes/trucks/Jeep's etc etc. Only Tatra still built CARS.

Contrary to popular belief, I have been wrong in the past so I am waiting for some one to pop up and point out "You forgot about XYZ co. dumbass" To which I'll say 'blame last months Octane magazine' :)
