Are any of you trying Chrome Frame?
For those who haven't heard of it, Chrome Frame is a plugin from Google for IE (especially IE6) that makes it work like a modern browser:

Again, I can't.
I actually tried to upgrade to IE8 here at work, and it was an epic failure. Our system wont work past 6.
Hopefully, next year, when we got to the new Windows, it will change.
(BTW, working on Chrome at home? I hate it- constantly doing "resolving host" and forcing me to reload pages)

Not Chrome. This is Chrome Frame, a plugin for IE.
Ok for all you IE users I have a question - WHY?
Because I like the letter e, especially when it wears a purdy yeller sash.

No choice. Work requires IE6. Can't do other than MS stuff, and IE 7 and 8 are not compatable for whatever reason (I tried, epic fail).
Not that I like Chrome all that much better- it runs quite slow at home. I'm going to try firefox on the home laptop.

That's pretty typical, and exactly what this Chrome Frame thing is trying to fix. People don't WANT to stick with IE (particuarly IE6), they HAVE to for some reason or another. This Chrome Frame thing is supposed to be a way for them to keep their IE6 yet have a decent browser.

The company's intranet and web meeting sites aren't Firefox friendly. I use if only for intranet stuff.
I finally have a computer that functions...I will resist change until a newer-ish computer is bestowed upon me.
I know I'm not one of the cool kids. I'm a rebel and I'll never ever ever be any good.
Alfa, install Firefox and use that for goofing off while you use Internet Exploder 6 for the work shizzle.

Gets my vote. A lot of companies don't upgrade from IE6 because their Intranet stuff contains so much IE6-specific workarounds that it's horribly broken on any other browser.
Again, that's the point of this Google Chrome Frame thing. Keep IE6 and (in theory) turn it into a good browser. Just wondering if anyone had tried it.
My company's apps won't play nice with any browser but IE. At least the workstation I'm at uses IE7.
I have Firefox at home. I NEVER touch IE when I'm on my home computer.

Because i havent run into any problems with IE in a while so havent found a need to try another browser.
How will switching to another browser make my life better?
Compared to any modern browser (or, apparently, this Chrome Frame in my original question), IE is slower, buggier, has fewer features, a poor rendering engine, lousy javascript and CSS support, and is wildly insecure.
So, a modern browser (take your pick) will show web pages better, faster.
It's the difference between a 77 Pacer and a Mini Cooper S.
Actually, that's probably not fair to the Pacer.

I actually downloaded the full chrome browser and didnt like it. It had no options for personalizing the setup for searching in the corner of the window (like IE8)
I like old cars I guess. '77 Pacers are cool!

I click the icon, up comes the internet, everything works since all the sites are designed for IE. I've used Firefox before, seems to work about as well. I'm not sure what the big deal is. It's not like Firefox does sexual favors or anything compared to IE.
Firefox won't infest your computers with spyware and adware like IE has the capability to do thanks to its known exploits. With the addition of some extensions to Firefox, it becomes a leatherman to IE's butterknife.

True, but it will block all ugly internet ads, and cover up the gaps to make it look like it was never there, display the country the website is hosted by, block almost all pop ups, allow me to download any embedded multimedia content, load all web pages faster, provide more security, and organize my downloads better.
