Unique, that's for sure. I like it.
You'll definitely want to keep away from purists though, unless you just want to piss them off for fun. I once had a '67 Jaguar E-Type 2+2. It had a worked over 302 in it, and had ghost flames on the hood. I got the stare of death from a lot of Jag owners, but countless thumbs up from everyone else.

Like the Rolls purists would ever get to see it, broken down at the side of the road with smoke obscuring their view.
Looks like this treatment is SOP for the more money than taste crowd.
Flames only look good on like 3 cars ever made and even on those it is too easy to over do it.
RR's look awful full stop. Two wrongs don't make a right.
That first one is brilliant, love the colours.
Imagine rolling (heh) up in that to a snooty, purist, concourse Britcar show. There would be monocles flying all over the place and you'd have to really watch your step to get around all the dropped fine bone china teacups. It would be hilarious.
You can pick some older RRs and Bently's for real cheap. Granted they suck but if you want to rebuild you can.

Why rebuild the british engine when you could just do an LSx swap?

Not just the motor but everything. You can spend 2k on an 80s RR but the interior will be shot, the paint will be shot but the car will only have 20k miles on it.

It would get thumbs-up from me. I remember one featured in Hot Rod not too long ago (just dug it up) http://www.hotrod.com/featuredvehicles/hrdp_1002_1971_jaguar_xke/viewall.html
It's just a good idea.
The first two Rolls need different wheels. Lennon's is pretty much priceless and has to remain as-is.

I thought it was really cool. I tried to search for pictures of it yesterday on my home computer, but couldn't find them. Doing some digging, the for sale ad I placed on a forum was still there...from about 7+ years ago. Woohoo!
cool jag...
Considering how passe' old RRs and Bentleys are (especially the normal 60's 70's and 80's are to the rich... I say it would be great fun to take an old roller and hotrod it
I have a nagging desire to go the other way on this concept. I want to build a traditional hot rod, but use a Rolls Royce 6.75L V8 and some Austin 7 bits and pieces.

I don't see any way at all that could end in tears. You'd better go do it!

It'll most likely wait until my father retires, but I am serious about it and I am looking for parts. So, if you happen to know a guy with a Rolls/Bentley V8 or some Austin 7 body work sitting around...

You, sir, are insane. I approve. Bonus points if you use a turbo version.

Apparently the internet commands that I re-double my efforts in the parts search.
You'll need to log in to post.
