Is there an ignore function hiding anywhere in the forum software? If not, can the request for it be considered made?

What specifically would you like to ignore?

I don't think we have that function, but if not everyone is playing nicely e-mail me directly and I'll see what we can do.

It was an existing function a few board upgrades ago. I tried it out. It was strange.

In reply to foxtrapper:

I haven't been around much in the past couple of months, so you've had me on "ignore" by default.

Used to have one on another forum, was called the Bozo Bin.

I put myself in it.

One forum I used to Admin had a place called Coventry. It was basically a global Ignore. They could read and post normally, except that no one else would ever see their posts. You could put the problem child in there, and the troll would never know the difference, except that people would stop falling for the troll's bait.

I seem to remember we had a whole thread about ignoring things at one point.

In reply to Duke:

I suggest we have something like that, but instead it enables an EDIT button that everyone can use on their posts.

Yeah it's a great feature to have. Without naming names, there's a certain individual on here who joined up last December-ish who I would love to ignore. I've been on this forum for more than a decade and had loads of disagreements with people but this is the first time someone on here has made me despise them so thoroughly I'd rather not acknowledge they still exist.

(If you're reading this post wondering if it's you, it probably isn't!)

Whew! Honestly I was a tad worried for a bit there.

Can an admin change their avatar to a dunce cap or a donkey or something? Maybe they will get the message that way.

I stuck my head in that thread to make sure that everyone is playing nicely. Hopefully everyone is acting like adults.

Thanks as always.

I admit to certain troll like tendencies, but I joined long before last December. I did manage to really piss a guy off with XKCD comics a few years ago.
