Not the movie. Well, maybe. Anybody have big plans for tomorrow? Trips, eats, pyrotechnics.... ?
I'll taking my boy to the lake to splash around while the Mrs. tries her hand as an angler. (reversed gender roles anyone?) And possibly grilling up some tube steaks in the PM. And we have no real interest in fireworks so probably an early evening.
Quiet day at home. Fire up the smoker and fill it with ribs.
Call my sister and wish her a Happy Birthday and rub in the fact that she is 60! (She looks 40)
Back to work on Thursday, so an early evening listening to the fireworks as they are shot off about a mile from my house.

Been casting around with the family to come up with a plan. Looks like we're having my sister and at least some of her family over for burgers and dawgs, followed by municipal fireworks.
I have 10 lbs of boneless rib brisket, I'm planning on grilling it up while I spend most of the day in the pool with the kids trying avoid the oppressive heat.
Trying to get out of work before everything shuts down for fireworks.
I may be taking my son to steam tractor parade in Cumming.
The forecast is for temps in the mid 90s with tropical humidity, I'm staying inside.
We're taking our dog to a nearby town which does fireworks on the 3rd, providing a place to get the berk away from said bullpuckery on the 4th. Any holidays involving that kind of noise consist of us trying miscellaneous means of shutting out and drowning out the noise and worrying about our shaking, projectile-shedding pup.
I'm strictly joking, but I still enjoy painting the picture of the blunt force trauma I'd like to inflict on people setting off mortars in town for days before and after The Day. Fireworks are neat and an hour of scaring the crap out of dogs for the enjoyment of thousands is... defensible. Setting off a mortar that freaks out every dog for a mile for the enjoyment of yourself and the three friends you have over at 1 a.m. should be punishable by flaying.
It all detracts a lot from actually paying any attention to the underlying occasion.
Grill some burgers. Drink some adult beverages. Hang outside with the girlfriend and the dogs.
I think I shall mosey 2 miles up the road and eat some ribs that a guy does better than I do.
Taking the kids over to Mom's and bringing a cookout with us. Got a bunch of water toys to play with in the back yard. Trying to make it a fun day, Dad would have been 74, his birthday was the 4th. Hopefully a back yard full of happy, healthy grand kids will make it easier.
Watch my father in law get hammered while making bbq in the afternoon, girl scouts in the parade in the morning. Maybe a nap.
It's been around 100 degrees here lately, was going to go flying (sailplane) . Maybe I'll just hydrate with adult beverages and BBQ, sitting under a plastic greenhouse looses its luster at some point.
Happy 4th - - Be SAFE!

Work 4am to supposedly 12:30, but if I go late I’m ok with holiday time and a half. Maybe go to a party after work at a local park. Evening is another party and probably fireworks. Then I don’t work until 4pm Thursday.
Sleep in, watch some movies, drink some adult beverages while grilling ribs. My neighborhood becomes a war zone anytime there's an excuse to launch fireworks, so there's that. Makes my dog manic.

Been a licensed pyro since the day I turned 18 and will be shooting the Blaine WA show, again, as we have since 1990... yeah no I ain't sick of it.
Hiding inside until about 830 then going out to my employers parking lot too watch fireworks with my kids.
Be mindful of your appendages, kids.
Hanging with the family in the evening, might get some mountain biking in in the morning.

Good thread. I'm a staunch Patriot (not the football team, of which I'm merely a fair-weather fan). Anyway, I love listening to the neighborhood fireworks around this time of year (which are spectacular at this very moment), and I think the Founding Fathers would be pleased with us in 2018. Tomorrow, "The Fourth," we're hosting a group of friends at our house for a traditional cookout. In the evening we'll have a roaring bonfire in the firepit even if it'll be in the nineties as predicted. And we'll enjoy the neighborhood fireworks.
Have fun everyone, and be safe.
Working, because my bills don't care about Freedom. After that I'll probably have a beer and maybe a burger. 60 hour fireworks ban here due to a complete lack of rain lately. Going to be an early night since I have to work tomorrow as well.

Family party; I’ll be leaving it early to come back to the dogs since they’ll be trembling.
