So, I am walking out of my office to grab a bit to eat. At the end of the walkway a Scion xB is parked with a "Courier" sticker on the side. I usually wouldn't have paid it much attention, but it was parked in my way. Walking by, I glanced inside and noticed something that I had not ever seen before. This car had a piece of cork-board cut and positioned over the instrument cluster (wish I had taken a pic) and on it were 50 some odd notes, coupons, scrap paper all push-pinned into it like it was a bulletin board for the driver(s). Makes you wonder how they know when they are out of gas?

I'm not sure it falls under "motorsports" but it certainly is "grassroots".

What have you seen?

I find various trinkets and pictures covering importatnt gauges all the time in customer cars. Most are too dumb to read an analog gauge anyway, so why do they need to see it?

I've sometimes put a post-it note over my fuel gauge. It reads: Does not work, 322 miles. Meaning that my fuel gauge doesn't always work, and I need to fill up when I hit 322 miles on the trip odo.
