The company I work for is going to have an opening in Detroit in a couple of weeks. It is an IT position that deals with desktop/ laptops up to Servers with a little networking thrown in from time to time.
You would be supporting Federal law enforcement as a contractor but the pay is good and the hours are not bad at all.
Anyone interested can PM me and I will forward resumes.

Thank you for this. I am not interested, but just the fact that you posted it shows how awesome this community is.
If I didn't love my job and lived on the side of the state, I'd be all over it.
Move it to West Mich and I can give you a name or two
I posted this a week or so ago, but it's still open:
Position open for someone who knows the in's and out's of cars. Experience actually wrenching on cars is preferred over a piece of paper that says you know stuff.
This is an office position, you won't be getting dirty. PM me for more info.
Oh, the job is in Auburn Hills, MI. The location should give you a hint at who the work is for...
No, but the product they sell has pistons.....
Why is it there are so many jobs in Michigan all of a sudden? In the last 10 years or so everybody was leaving the state because there were no jobs.
Did everybody leave the state?
Yup, everybody left, then the economy started to pick up. Many of those jobs lost were lay-offs, not job losses per se.

I bet about 70% of the folks on this board qualify very well, 80% or more would have a good shot at it.
Dangit! That was supposed to be an edit, not a quote. I'm gonna mess up the first person that calls me a post-whore

They are hiring a TON. We've lost at least 3 people that I know. No idea about the ones I don't.
Not surprised Alfa. It seems that many folks jump ship when the first offer is waved at them (not knocking them or anything). I know the tech center went from ghost town to very near capacity in less than 2 years.
This particular position that I'm talking about is a peach of a position. very good, long-term security and it's easy. Fun too.

This is what a community is all about.
I'm in a different industry, doing electrical engineering, and I've been getting calls now and then from head hunters (3rd party...) who are digging up resumes like mine looking for people. And I haven't updated anything out there in 2 to 3 years. Hard time finding people with some experience I guess. Sometimes I wish I could repost those jobs to somewhere like here or Facebook but I don't want anyone from my company finding that and having it look like I'm constantly job shopping. Today's call was for an EE to work in Davenport IA.

To the OP Rusted Spit:
I know cars pretty well, but never was a mechanic, just a grease monkey for a few years. I've worked in government now for a couple of years in project/permit management.
I did however have a 7 month stint working for a government contractor on a military base doing computer staging. Think they'd have any interest in that?
In reply to PHeller:
Shoot me your resume and I will take a look at it. How much computer troubleshooting have you done?
